Best option so far vs. Canada Pooch and Paws
Ok, so I kind of went crazy and bought different silicone dog boots in different sizes. I first bought Canada Pooch boots and they do have thicker silicone and go higher up on the leg. Their design is more sleek and less floppy. BUT their strap is too short. I got Jelly Wellies first in XL, since the L Pooch ones seemed just a little tight for my dog's front paws, but XL was too big. The large is just right and I will say that for me the sizing was accurate, exactly 3 inches for my dog. These boots run wide though so there is a lot of floppy silicone. It also is a little short in front, but you can work around that by folding the boot a certain way. I still wish they made them less floppy and higher / angled in front like Canada Pooch. BUT their saving grace is the long strap, which, unlike the other brand's, wraps fully around the boot. The velcro loops are fully covered so they don't get grimy and are more secure. My dog has yet to lose a boot when running wild in the yard, if she is wearing the large. The XL which was too big for her does fall off. I also got a medium to try on her rear paws, since the rear paws are smaller, but the boot straps are not as long on the M and don't go around her whole ankle. I love the colors, now have them in blue, yellow, pink, and green. Stop me from getting more! My dog just looks so cute in them, I can't help it. I did order some Good2Go boots too but they haven't arrived, let's see how those are in comparison. By the way, the reason I got these was to avoid wiping off muddy paws, and they work fine for that. I do have to wash the mud off the boots, and grass and dirt do get caught on the velcro, but that's just how it is. Velcro is easy on off. There is no perfect boot. Paws boots, the balloon ones, stay on, but they are a pain to put on even with the Paws Jawz, and they rip so easily. I put duct tape on them but they don't look as neat that way. I don't expect these Wellies will last forever since the strap is just glued and the silicone is not so thick, but they will last longer than Paws for sure. My dog has ripped a small hole in one of them already. I don't trim her nails often so her nails are sharp and dig into the boot when she runs. Hope this helps.Addendum: The Good2go pink boots look exactly the same except the material is more translucent, almost neon rather than solid.

Circular shape wasn't right for my girl's elongated paws
Not sure what to say about these. My 'girl' is now 13 yrs old and has a lot of muscle weakness. We have hardwood floors so her paws slip around and her legs will sprawl just standing still, so I got these to give her extra grip. All the reviews said to get a size larger. I followed the directions for measuring paw size and then ordered the next size up. I could almost fit two of her paws in one boot! She's built like a thick whippet, but with terrier fur, so her paws/legs are on the 'dainty' side.IF, I had ordered the correct size...and IF the shape of the boot was more oblong than circular, I think these would have been perfect. As it stands: They DID give her grippage for the first dozen or so steps, then the size came into play. They slipped off with a couple Really good shakes of her feet. There was so much room to the sides of her feet that she was walking on the sides of the boot for half of her steps. (BUT her legs weren't sprawling apart!) The velcro closure actually kept the leg opening on better than I had expected. (But I had really low expectations!)I'm sure I could have returned them, but there are 7 dogs here and even with just a few dozen steps total, the boots would need serious cleaning/defurring. As a 'dog-mom', I wouldn't want to risk these just getting sent back out to someone. I may re-order in a different size and then rig something to contour the boot to fit better.

They keep feet dry, but you get what you pay for.
They were a less expensive solution for wet feet, but not long term. I measured according to the chart given and the size front to back was appropriate. However, they are very wide compared to my dogs paws. It looks like she has horse hooves when wearing them. It is amusing as she walks or trots along, but I am sure she would find them irritating if they were used when she was able to get out and run. As mentioned in other reviews, the straps can come off easily. Even with careful handling, I have had to glue two back on. Even though they aren't a long term solution, I still gave 3 stars because they were much less expensive than others, they keep her feet dry and I wasn't willing to invest in more expensive shoes until I knew she would tolerate wearing something on her feet. They have been an adequate starter pair that look, fit and feel like a pair of golashas.

Didn't fit my small dog.
These were really cute and looked to be well made. I had to return them however because they just wouldn't fit my dog. I have a maltese who is 7 1/2 pounds. I bought a small because a small usually fits him. I measured the length of his paw and it is 1 3/4" long. These were too tall for his legs and they were also too loose. I don't believe these work for small dogs. Even if I had purchased an extra small I believe the top of the boot would be too tall. The length of the boot made it difficult for him to bend his legs to walk. The top of the boots came up to his elbows. I really wanted these to work because they are so cute.

Awesome boots for snow and rain.
For the record, my dog HATES these things. She will do whatever she can to try to get them off. She has only succeeded maybe once or twice since I bought them in December, and that was usually while I was trying to put them on. Once they were on, it was difficult for her to remove. I, on the other hand, LOVE this product. I have a 5 yr old Pit, whose feet are on the large side, but her legs are on the slimmer side. Most dog shoes I have tried for her, have always slipped off, because I couldn't secure them tight enough. Not a problem for these. They keep her paws free from snow, salt and ice in the winter. Rain and mud, should I choose to fight with her to put them on in that weather. Worth the money!
