Sweet and smoky: Not for eggs
I'm a fan of just about anything fermented, and my partner is a pickled egg fanatic, probably the result of long, raucous nights in bars, ogling women and picking fights. ("You've just punched a dude in the nose! Have a pickled egg!") Well, actually, he says that in his partying days he didn't have enough money to drink AND eat, so he became best friends with the free pickled egg jar in most bars. Shows you HIS priorities, right? We eagerly awaited the arrival of the Amish smoked pickled eggs and dove in.Wow. They're a taste sensation, alright, but not exactly in the positive sense, which was a great learning experience. Lesson 1: Pickled eggs should never be smoked. For some reason (or maybe just because there seemed to be a lot of sugar in these eggs), they were 'way too sweet and almost not pickled, leaving an aftertaste that was...not pleasant. We split the first egg between us, the dog wouldn't touch the second, and the rest visited that great circular file in the sky. All was not lost, however: I'm using the jar to make our own pickled eggs, minus the liquid smoke and sugar.

Taste really good
They're a little difficult to get out of the jar, and a bit dry on the inside. Other than that, though, these are some goooood pickled eggs.

Too sweet
Sweeter than I expected. Matter of taste, of coursel.

Yum just yum
You have to try them. They’re just the right amount of smokey and pickled. Perfect addition to a pickle plate.

Missing that smoke flavor
Also has a sweetness to the pickling juice, not a fan of adding sugar to pickling

Not what “mom” use to make
It is a food thing I guess but these eggs are much stronger then what the Amish ladies made in my childhood community back in Pennsylvania

Good quality
They were good. I enjoyed the sweeter profile.
