Perfect poacher
This worked like a charm on the first try. A little paper insert gives suggested cooking times, and I heartily suggest one know the Power Wattage of their microwave in order to get the eggs cooked just the way you want them. Also a there might be a few seconds difference between cooking times when making one egg vs. two. I had no problem with my guess-timated cooking time so my eggs turned out perfectly. I used a little bristled scub brush to remove the egg from between the drainage slits. Easy clean-up with that when my sponge wasn’t getting the job done. Hope this helps because this poacher really is a clever design.

Disappointing
I was so disappointed with this egg poacher and am returning both that I purchased. Using the recommended time (1000 watt microwave) for soft yolk, left the egg mostly uncooked. Doubling the time gave me a hard yolk and still partially uncooked egg white. Using the recommended time for a hard yolk (my husband's preference) mostly cooked the yolk, but still left partially uncooked egg white. Add to that the fact that the egg white stuck to the bottom of both the insert and the holder making cleanup more difficult, I would definitely not recommend this item. I'll go back to cooking the old-fashioned way in a pan with simmering Joseph Joseph 45008 M-Cuisine Microwave Egg Poacher water.

I like like mine soft poached so I knew I was ...
Have a 1000W micro - I used power level 9 for 60secs - 1 large egg for experiment, 1st try. Let set for 30 secs. Guess what?? Came out hard poached. I like like mine soft poached so I knew I was getting closer at the 1st try. Whites were not 'rubbery' and yolk was solid. A real poached egg!! I did use room temp water and broke the egg into the little colander to drain off excess whites after using to fill to water line. Note, had to remove some water since the large egg I was using pushed the water to the top. It appears it will take some experimenting to get use to it but a far cry from trying the 'pan method' which I failed miserably at. Real poached eggs at last!!!

Nice fast way to make eggs, hard for perfect benedict!
Its a great way to make eggs really really fast! The problem I seem to have its that the yolk gets hard and the egg white is still uncooked! I guess its because microhaves cook from the inside to the outside... i have ajusted the cook power and in 5 times I have used it I havent figured out how to get a perfect poached egg. And also... the res baskets are sometimes hard to clean because the egg white gets stuck...

my method is a little different
makes great poached eggs. my directions :-1 fill water to line-2 microwave for 1 minure-3 add eggs-4 microwave for 1 minutecustard yollks, 90% cooked whites .... took me a while to figure out that hot water before eggs makes whites cook more while yolks can still be soft

Beautiful, but impractical. A bad design.
Can it cook poached eggs? Yes.Does it do it well? No.I'm really passionate about eggs and design, so get ready for a very detailed and intense review.I feel like they focused too much on the aesthetic and that took away from the functionality when designing this product. First off, there are too many dang parts for something that does a very simple task. Having to wash 4 pieces of plastic after making 2 eggs is... a lot. And none of the parts stick together, which means I have to scramble through piles and piles of dishes to find all the parts. Also because there's no interlocking mechanism between the cooking part and the lid, I've had the lid blew up, and boiling egg water soaked up the whole microwave a few times. I know they say this could happen if the cook time or microwave power is not right, but the more I use it the more I feel like I'm better off going stove-top. Because then if I screw up, I end up with overcooked eggs, as opposed to no eggs and a dirty microwave.Bottom line: it's not the worst thing in the world, but there are way better (and cheaper) options out there. I'd recommend Nordic Ware ( Nordic Ware Microwave 2 Cavity Egg Poacher ). It's ugly as hell, but it's only about 6 bucks, works very well and doesn't have any of the problems I encountered with this one. Don't fall for the aesthetics like I did.

Makes a hard poached egg quickly.
I put water in both bowls and then the eggs. Add more water to fill line. Use fork to pierce yolks. Cover and cook 50 secs in my microwave. The yolks are mostly boiled but small amount of runny yellow yolk. I wish I could get fully soft boiled eggs but allas no luck. If I cook less then white is runny. But this does cook a nice hard poached egg quickly. So it does it job quickly. Thus the five stars.

Love it, use it almost daily
Love it, use it almost daily. I don't use any lube, just water and eggs and in my microwave 1 minute is perfect for eggs firm but still soft yolk. With previous products I had to struggle to get eggs out onto the plate without a bunch of water. If the eggs stick a little i just tap holder on the plate and out it slides. Plenty of room for water and egg so not spills placing it in or out of microwave. Love the built in egg cracker so I don't need to dirty a glass to crack my eggs on. Very nice product.

No es muy útil
No funciona muy bien, en realidad una taza con agua funcionaría igual, no sé si es el microondas pero los deja o pasados por agua o muy hechos.
