Service Dog Training Guide: A Step-by-Step Training Program for You and Your Dog

I really like this book. Easy read and understand. If you want to train your dog to be a service dog this is for you. I was blessed my puppy was service dog material. Not all are. My German Shepherd is now a great service dog at the age of one year. He has been at the hospital with me now 3 times and at the doctors office a half a dozen. He was perfect. I got this book after he had been working as a service dog and there are some things I missed that are minor.

Complicated issues written simply and clearly. Well done with simply state lesson and how to implement the learning process. Would buy again.

Super easy to read & understand for people wondering the difference between the different types of certifications. Shows the expected prices for it, explains the industry & how things work. I have another book that much more on the topic but its for those serious about doing it all the way through. I like this book because its a good size print, easy to read, and a great start for those wondering if they should even investigate if they or a loved one can actually commit to the training or if they need to get an animal already trained. It has some ideas about what to train your dog to do for what disabilities but not fully covered! Would be great to get someone who you may think they may need a support dog & is stubborn about not having a “dog in the house” as they are work animals & NOT pets. Once you train a service animal its VERY hard for them to be a “pet” after so do you homework…PLEASE!I found for me hybrid training is the best as I dont have the stamina for the standing but need help. So I have a gal come in to fill in what I cand do. Just an idea!

This is one of the best books for mobility service dog training I’ve found! I may have to retire my dog soon and SDiT has just joined us so this book is going to get put to a lot of use along with the Team Work book one and two with their videos by Nordensson & Kelley, that I got on Amazon years ago. I do wish that Ms Hack had explained a bit more about using a training log book in her otherwise wonderful guide.

Still learning as we go, Easy to follow instructions & helpful suggestions.

Good book just wished it showed you how to do certain things.

For someone wanting to train dog for home or service this is a great tool. Great commands and step by step how to with your dog.
