I specifically put a QR clamps inside the cage, under the camera, to make releasing the camera easier without having to disassemble the whole cage. I use the cold shoe to lock the top of the camera to the top plate of the cage and increase rigidity, but this does make removal a little more involved. I then attached the ARCA plate from the QR clamp underneath the cage such that I can instantly clamp the rig into a tripod if I need to do a panning shot etc. The 8" carbon rods are used for the handles - one 16" rod, split in the middle, that sits in the handle clamp but come out without having to take one handle off the rig.
