High Carbon steel is cause for low drag and Snag intollerance
I have ran into hooks breaking when using high carbon steel as they do not handle bending but yet are very strong. If you snag on a rock or log, they will break after 2 or 3 tune cycles. They are awesome for hooking up on a monster, yet you cannot do this without setting drag using braded or no stretch lines. Snags kill these hooks. So best used in vertical jigging application where minimal snags on rocks, concrete or logs. They still dull on rocks the same as all hooks.

Terrible
Were good for making my own jigs but fishing with the jigs turn out to be a mistake. Every hook I've put on my line had broken. Strength would be my first priority if I made hooks. Garbage
