Stylish and modern the wedge benefits from rubber top and bottom surfaces which increase the friction between the floor and the wedge and the wedge and the door as such it works equally well on carpeted and smooth floors. When placed in the path of a door the door wil impact the inclined face of the wedge and because of the angle of the inclined face a proportion of the force is directed vertically downwards into the floor increasing the friction between the wedge and the floor. Because the included angle of the wedge is less than the arctangent of the coefficient of friction between the wedge and the floor the wedge 'binds' and the door cannot continue to move.

Bought as the dog chews the solid rubber doorstops. The dog does not like chewing metal, so that at least worked.However the upper rubber grip that you can see in the picture has unglued from the metal body after just a few weeks of use, so it only lasted as long as one of the far cheaper solid rubber doorstops do in my house.

I have tried loads of door stops and they did not work very well. This one does the job!

Great stopper works to hold back 3 hour fire door on tile floor, so would do for all floor types

Looks good but I'm a house with children will only last few weeks at most. Poor construction but very aesthetically pleasing. Rubber just came away from body.

Good quality heavy weight door wedge , ordered 2 and they both came a bit scuffed but as they are going straight on the floor I'm not too worried.
