UGREEN USB C to 3.5mm Jack DAC Hi-Fi Stereo USB C Aux Headphone Adapter

I used this to plug my old wired Sennheiser HD455 headphones into my PC to listen to Spotify music. This seems inherently unfair to this little device, using it to drive some big vintage headphones where I should really use a desktop DAC but it's doing a great job driving some very unforgiving headphones. Pros: It works on the USB-C port of my PC as well as my Pixel phone. Short length makes it easy to use. Clear sound, easy to listen to. Looks well made. Superb value. Con: I'm lacking a bit of bass punch on stuff like drums, but honestly I'm being picky here and these headphones are going to be harder to drive than the ear buds most people use. It seems mean to drop even half a star when that sort of performance is going to cost 20 times as much.

I bought this to use with my Shure SE846s and I’ve been really impressed with it. The SE846s are quite sensitive, so I wanted something that wouldn’t add hiss, interference or noticeably affect the sound. So far, it’s been spot on. What I like most is the build quality. The metal housings at both ends feel solid rather than cheap or hollow, and the cable has enough flexibility that it doesn’t feel like it’s putting strain on the USB-C port. The joins around the connectors also feel tidy and well finished, which gives me a bit more confidence that it should hold up to being carried around and used regularly. It’s also compact enough to just leave in my headphone case, which is handy. Overall, it feels like a much nicer adapter than the really cheap ones you sometimes get. Plug it in, it works, and it doesn’t feel like a weak link when paired with a decent set of headphones. Very happy with it so far.

Brilliant product.

I've had a few of these £10 dongles and was able to compare with the Vention product which uses a USB A connection. It is a fair bit smaller than the Vention and the cable is very short which makes it less bendy but it really feels really strong and bends 90degs without a problem. The USB C connection feels much more secure in my laptop than the USB A. I had no problems with functionality on my devices - windows 10 laptop and Samsung S10 phone, sound and microphone pass through worked without any issues. Windows 10 recognised it fine and automatically set it up. I have a few headphones and IEMs but have tested mainly with a pair of Creative Aurvana Live. These are obviously budget devices and I do not expect amazing results but in terms of sound it does have a different presentation to the Vention which is worth mentioning. It has a touch more bass and treble - a more V-shaped response - which for me was better for music. It was much closer to the sound of the headphone output of my S10 and I could not reliably tell the difference. What i can say is that it is not a massive improvement over the phone's built in amplification but clarity was improved over the laptop's sound. Overall I'm very happy but after only a couple of days I can't comment on reliability.

This DAC surprised me with durability, it is braided and not as fragile as the apple one. Very easy to connect to phone with stable connection. What a surprise that the music quality is an uplift, they make my music sounds more rich and full. This is recommended to everyone :)

Works well with my Pixel 9a and Pixel 8a

This adaptor broke my headphones. The connector got stuck inside and when i tried to remove the headphones the wire came apart. Got a refund and compensation from Amazon in the end but it took 5 weeks and a lot of hassle.

Good, so far. I just changed phone to a model which doesn't include a headphone jack. While I do most of my headphone music listening these days using a modded vintage 512GB iPod 5th Gen with its audiophile Wolfson DAC it's occasionally handy to be able to use my wired Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over Ear headphones with my phone. This has all the hallmarks of good quality manufacture. The perceived build quality is very refined and stylish. The output sound quality is good. If I anticipated using wired headphones connected to my phone on a regular basis then Ugreen also do a higher specification variant of this rated to 384 KHz / 32 bit although it is about twice the price (ASIN: B0CG5FTHT9 ) and I would probably get that one. By comparison, this one is 96 KHz / 24 bit. Nevertheless this has perfectly acceptable audio quality. I also did a test with my old Samsung flagship phone, an Exynos based Galaxy Note 9 which has a high end Wolfson DAC and still has a headphone jack. I plugged my Momentums first in to the headphone jack on the phone itself and then into this. While there was a subtle difference at best, a slightly different emphasis of vocals, everything else was absolutely fine. The level of detail was about comparable and the soundstage about the same. I didn't do an extensive comparison, but on a quick test (some Esbjörn Svensson Trio (jazz)) there was nothing that glaringly stood out as vastly inferior about this DAC to the premium one in my Galaxy Note 9. For this price tag I have zero complaints about the sound quality. There were no pops, crackles and there was no hiss. Others have remarked on the 3.5mm jack being a little loose. As a brand new item when it's reasonable to expect it is going to be as tight as it is ever likely to be, I agree it is slightly on the loose side, and it's likely to become a little more so over time. Ugreen might consider looking to a different supplier for a tighter fitting 3.5mm inline socket. Still, at this time the headphones plug into the socket and stay plugged in as long as you don't pull on it. I recommend this item, however looking at other reviews, some people have had problems with long term reliability with this item so I can only hope I got a good one. I get the feeling that Ugreen may need to address some issues of Quality Control if, going forward, they want to become as well regarded as the likes of Antec. This does however come with a 2 year warranty, in the UK anyway, which I frankly feel is more than acceptable for a product which costs as little as this.

Es mi primer producto de UGREEN. Aunque ya había visto buenas reseñas antes, tenía que probarlo por mi cuenta. Me encanta, pues no distorsiona el audio (tengo unos audífonos Sony) y hasta ahora trabaja muy bien.

Top, funciona perfeitamente. Chegou antes do previsto e entrega excelente qualidade de áudio.
