Light, elegant and fast.
A slim lightweight little beauty with a very subtle polychromatic sheen to the silver finish. A host of useful features include an excellent finger print reader, a full size HDMI, 2 full size USB ports a Thunderbolt USB-C and a micro SD card slot. The QLED screen is stunning and bright, the speakers are OK, obviously not very loud, the only realdisappointment is the lack of volume into 32 Ohm reference quality headphones, but the sound quality is good. The lightweight design of the magnesium alloy is not like the battleship ruggedness of a Dell XPS 13 but as a careful user I can't see this being a problem. The thin magnesium alloy does not feel as hot or cold as aluminium laptops, making it touch friendly and comfortable to use. The underside does get quite warm in the area of the processor, usually when Windows is doing one of its updates.I mainly use the Samsung Ion for browsing, watching YouTube, Netflix and videos for which it is more than adequate. There are plenty more features which are explained in greater detail on YouTube by many, a good easy example is one by GadgetsBoy (Samsung Galaxy Book Ion Review: Too Sleek For School). Make sure you are watching the 13 inch version as most reviews are for the 15 inch version.I bought this from Amazon on their recent 2 day Prime event at an astonishing price! which is why I gave 5 stars for value.

Great performance, beautiful presentation and craftmanship, perfectly made.
Amazing laptop! The first thing to mention is the high standard finish the Galaxybook has, it is made from high grade aircraft aluminium and is super lightweight and strong, just like the small macbook I have from a few years ago. It's bigger in size, being a standard working laptop size, so comfortable to work on for hours and has a blue light filter as well as the light setting, so great for working in the evenings and watching movies and shows without being blasted with bright lights. The backlit keyboard is really nice and great for working in low light. The fingerprint sensor is brilliant! Once you have scanned your fingerprint on set up, to unlock the laptop you literally just hold a finger on the sensor button, it is instant!Speed and power is brilliant, as soon as I open it and unlock it, it's ready to go!(Having not upgraded for 5 years it was a shock how quick and easy this laptop is, it really is amazing how much they have improved in speed! The other thing that is surprising is how light it is, it's comparable to my macbook and perfect for travel) I needed to replace my laptop with an updated version and when looking around was considering spending £600-700 on a standard laptop, then I saw this for £1,000 on sale.I am very glad I opted for the Galaxy laptop, I use Samsung Galaxy for my phone & tablet, so I was curious to see how similar this would be and if it would link to my phone easier, it does and very well!It has a dedicated app to processing and sharing data directly with your phone, by wifi and blutooth, as well as the conventional cable option. (I find that easier for transferring bigger files, like videos)

Great quality picture and well built but...
The Samsung Galaxy Book Ion is beautiful. It really is. From the moment you open the box you can see that it is well built and that the materials used are of very high quality. The good:- Ultra light- The QLED display is very bright and vivid- Very fast thanks to the Intel i7 10th gen processor- Battery life is great. It can last a full day. I estimated that I can have around 8.5 hours of Zoom calls on one battery charge. It is out of this world considering what I am used to!- It looks really good and in my opinion beats everything else including Mac Book Pro or Dell in terms of visuals. The not so good- Only 512GB SSD hard drive(however you have another slot available but of course you have to pay extra and install it yourself)- The web camera is very bad. And I mean very very bad. Grainy, poor quality and burred. There is no chance this is 720p as it is supposed to be.- The speakers are average. Quality of sound is decent but they are simply not loud enough.- The charging cable is offensively short. As short as a fast charging cable of a Samsung smartphone. Was it that hard to make it a meter longer? Also keep in mind that because of the terrible web cam, Windows Hello doesn't actually support facial recognition.Overall, this is a great laptop and I am definitely keeping it. The screen is great, build quality is excellent. But for the price, Samsung could have put a proper 720/1080p web cam so I don't need to use my own as it poses an inconvenience. 4 stars from me.

Really nice laptop
I have been using a mixture of Apple products with a Samsung Galaxy phone and Samsung TV. I decided to trade in my old MacBook pro 13.8 inch for this machine. My main use of the computer apart form the usual is to store and process my photography, so the large really nice screen is what I was after and it does not disappoint. My wife just got a new MacBook 15.6, so its easy to compare. This machine was about 1k cheaper for starters. It weighs about 1/2 that of the Mac and has an equally good keyboard and Windows 10 is just as good as the Mac operating systems and I got a great deal for Microsoft Office and the One drive. It has adequate speakers but have to say the bulkier Mac delivers more base, but I am either on headphones or paired to the TV sound system, so not a problem. All in all it is nice to be back on google / android and my wife is equally happy to be on Apple. I think this machine is good value for money and is very nice to use and has great portability.
