Most vital source for this style of bookbinding
The book fell apart in the mail and I have since given it a tight back binding in maroon leather with alternating deep red and mahogany onlays in the manner the book describes. I use this book anytime I begin any binding truly Indispensable!

Excellent Choice
This book fell into my hands a little randomly, so I feel quite lucky. It's well written, organized to easily find where you need help and provides clear instructions and numerous photographs. A few of the photos aren't clear enough to use easily, but most are very helpful. A great bench side manual for fine binding. To use this book well, you would want to have tried the process once or have an experienced binder work with you.My notes were good but this book completes them with great detail. An excellent resource!

Laughed out Loud
This book is amazing, but I just had to laugh when the first day I got it the binding came off completely. Even funnier was that the binding was glued together (hilarious because the Author makes a big deal about sewing a binding together being the best way to bind a book and how gluing was trash. he made his point) The cover coming off was no big deal, the book is still in easily usable shape and no pages are coming out or anything of that nature. It will be interesting to rebind this book on binding!

This is the Book You're Looking For
The headline says it all. I've got a huge library on bookbinding and, let's face it, there are just a few ways to correctly leather bind a book. I wish I'd bought this one first... could have saved a couple of hundred dollars on the others. Don't let the price scare you off – in this case you truly get what you paid for.

This book is a great guide and comes with its own in-build binding practice ...
This book is a great guide and comes with its own in-build binding practice session as the cover fell off within the first reading and came with a corner ripped off.

Binding Fell Apart
The content of the book is excellent, however the more I read it, the more the binding fell apart. The glue holding the cover to the spine lost its adhesion and crumbled away. I have had to take all the old glue off, remove the cover and now will recover it in a more effective manner.

I think it is the best book on the topic
An extremely well regarded book, used as a textbook at many Universities. I think it is the best book on the topic, it is clearly written and well illustrated, although it is not for people with a casual interest.

Great book by a graet author
Wonderful book on concise and fine bookbinding. Must have for every bookbinder/conservator. Jen's great experience with fine bindings and conservational binding makes her a very good teacher who knows and describes every detail of the process.
