I bought this to renew a failing sofa-bed, by putting a futon on top of the existing worn out one I had.The ideal size is slightly wider than my frame but doesn't effect it being a sofa, but makes it a far better surface to have as a mattress base.It has a vinyl type material, which gives it water protection, but for my sleeping bag! The sleeping bag walks off the futon during the night. But that's a small negative that simply, means putting the sleeping bag back in the correct place each day.As a sleeping surface I sleep on my side, so like a firm mattress but one with some give in it. Which this Futon does very nicely. I can settle on to my side and sink slightly into it, which give me a good feeling of support.As per instructions you need to unpack, lay it out and let it expand, as its been vacuum sealed in the bag, to reduce the size for the carrier to make it easier to handle. This futon once out of the vacuum bag, starts quickly to return to it's original size and plumpness..It's no over heavy and can be managed by a single person to move it about, turn it over etc, depending how you want to use it.I was pleasantly surprised by the general quality and appears to be of reasonable build quality and should last for some time. Unlike a lot of budget cost futons.Looking forward so decent naps, and sleeps on this. being comfy guess I will not be looking further for better option when I have more money to afford an expensive, as this is just the ticket at a lower cost.

No base but canny mattresses

This product is quite good I think for the money. Good alternative to a blowup. Blowups are annoying as they either need a power source or sweat and tears to inflate. Also blowups always seem to get micro punctures so after a few uses you find yourself having to add more air every few hours and you wake up on a semi-deflated mattress. This thing takes up slightly more space when storing/transporting but I think it’s less hassle overall.Do note: you can still feel the floor a bit through this thing. But really it’s no different to a firm mattress. It’s very comfy overall. If it were thicker it would take up more space and so would lose the benefit of mobility/easy storage.

feels good - my friend found it uncomfortable, but we swapped beds and i fell asleep quickly. i sleep on my side as well, but it didnt hurt my hips. its not thin, and havent felt like its sunk yet. easily folded in half, but VERY difficult to roll up. the velcro straps provided helps keep it compact when in cupboard

Disappointed not quite what’s I expected

Oh dear, what reviewer described this as thick? It's THIS as THIN, I wrongly assumed this was the one i bought from here some years back, as it cost the same, however the one i actually bought back then for around £80 is now around £120/30, BUT it is a quality 15cm thickness, proper material cover which looks nice if it's on your 3 seater futon, unlike this plastic shiny nylon horrible cover and it's pathetic 7cm thickness? As soon as i opened it i new it was going back, BUT it cost me £32 to send back!FK.Looks like your not going to get a decent one these days unless you up your price, and i'm speaking of the 3 seater size, which even though a good thick mattress that looks good, it is about 10cm shorter in length than it used to be. I could not use this 1 if it were free, you would need 2 stuck together and even then you could not live with the horrible nylon style covering. At best you could keep it in a cupboard for your dogs, thats it.

Fast delivery, and decent quality.Currently been used on sofa, foldable sofa bed, and seem really comfortable.I would like it be a bit thinker, but after leaving to set for 12 hours, I have used it 10 or 12 time so far, reasonably comfortable.Good value for money, something to do for guest room etc is ideal, plus I would say it will last few years, no problem
