Best broom for pet and human hair removal
My search is over! I saw a blurb about these types of brooms on a 'best of' article. Decided to give it a try. I have two dogs and people in my house with long hair. Swiffers do the work but I didn't want to continue to buy the refills and I appreciated the environmentally friendly aspect of this product.Back to this broom - I ordered a spare broom head as well. Easy to assemble the broom and as soon as I went to work on my hardwood and tile floors, I found this worked as well as my Swiffer. Easy to clean. I'm totally happy!

Great broom. Good sweeper.
I have only used it once but it impressed me. I had to replace one I bought about 20 years ago and I am happy with my choice. It does have a stiffer foam than my other broom but I find this helps it hold its shape and provide a stronger sweep. It also has an adjustable handle. With a longer extension, it provides for a longer sweep pattern. Next I will be happily ordering a replacement pad because I expect to still be using it 20 years from now. I prefer this to a regular broom because nothing blows around when I use it. I always vacuum the foam after sweeping. This is better than a Swiffer because you don't have to replace the pads all the time.

Great for large open spaces, bad for nooks and crannies
I'm on a quest for the perfect broom. With three kids and wood floors, I sweep A LOT. I never knew I cared so much about a broom, but I recently had to say goodbye to an Ikea broom that had a great stand up dustpan with it. That thing was AWESOME and I'd had it for years. When I went to replace it, I found Ikea had discontinued it and brought it in a much inferior broom (light, bristles splayed and didn't seem to sweep well). I turned to the internets, and ended up with a Thai broom from the local Asian Market. Possibly the worst broom in the history of mankind. It was the perfect height for my kids...so quite short for me, and the worst part was that it shed constantly. So you were sweeping up bristles and bristle remnants along with whatever you actually planned to sweep up. Total fail. A broom should not cause more mess. Why do I tell you this? So you understand my quest. I now try brooms everywhere I go, searching for The One. It may not exist, but this one is pretty good!I ordered this from amazon and the packaging was quite dismal. The first arrived with part of the plastic piece broken off, and it would have worked, but you need to be able to open that piece to remove the foam when you want to wash it (yes, I wash my broom. I'm broom crazy, remember?). But in fast amazon fashion, they let me return the broken one and had a new one on my doorstep in two days, and it was not broken. This sweeps well, which is, of course the most important part. It's a lightweight broom and I wouldn't recommend leaning it somewhere it might fall, as that plastic piece I mentioned that holds the foam seems like it could break easily. This does an excellent job sweeping - since there aren't bristles, the floor crud doesn't splay out at the edges and cause you to re-sweep areas. However, since it's a block of foam, it doesn't get into edges or crevices well. It's strange getting used to the feel of the foam on the floor - very different than bristles - but it really sweeps quickly and efficiently. If you need to get just under the stove or in the space between the fridge and the cabinets, you'll need a second, different broom.I'd love to just have ONE broom that does it all, and I'm skeptical about the longevity of this broom, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. It's good...but it's not my holy grail broom. The quest continues.

Best Broom
I had a similar foam broom such as this over 30 years ago. I'm so glad to find this again as it was always the best broom for hardwood/linoleum floors around, especially with today's brooms which are hard, synthetic brooms which seem to leave more on the floor than you get into the dustpan. Highly recommend this for anyone who has hard floors. Very easy to use and very easy to clean if needed.

Happy Purchase
I absolutely love this broom! With a regular broom, I drive myself crazy sweeping up dust & pet hair from my hardwood floor. It flies everywhere. I've often times had to go back and vacuum after sweeping. This broom makes it so much easier! The dust & pet hair attaches to the foam and sticks there. I have to clean it off a couple of times to get my whole floor area completed. Cleaning it off is very easy. With this broom, I no longer need to follow up with the vacuum cleaner. If I had to make a recommendation on improvement, it would be to make the foam a bit longer from it's 13 inches in order to do a larger area at a time.

I was a little disappointed with the foam
I was a little disappointed with the foam.. I am still using the one I bought years ago. The new ones are too hard and do not attract the dog hair.Happy I ordered them, but will try to soften them up.

One item EVERY house needs. A sponge mop/broom. +
The only way to clean when you have pets. This sponge mop/broom is a must have. When I cut hubby's hair I just swoop up the loose hairs with this little puppy and it cleans it all up.....POOF.....It's great to dust with too. I can't be without it. :-) OHHHH....you can also use it in the yard to skim over leaves and pile them up. It is washable so you can use it forever and it lasts. I even skim it over my bedspread to get the loose hairsfrom my precious Kitty cat, BamBam. Enjoy!!!!!

Don't waste your money
This broom did not live up to its reviews. It's no better than a regular broom. It is good for catching hair, pet or human, but nothing else; in particular, not the tiny bits of styrofoam from packaging. I regret spending the money and am glad I didn't buy a refill.
