Shatex Shade Panel 10' x 12' Block 90% of Sunlight with Ready-tie up Ribbon for Pergola Gazebo Porch, Wheat

Love the tie ribbons - we were able to use this shade sail over a gazebo frame that was damaged by the weight of snow. We originally got this particular sail about 5 years ago to accommodate the broken frame, changing it from a gazebo to a pergola. I was going to wash it in my machine for this year, as it was still in good condition but needed a cleaning - but it wouldn't fit in my machine. I ended up buying a new sail, and it is the same quality as the one I got several years ago. We love it.

Easy to install/take down

It worked well enough, but it fell apart too quickly, and it looked pretty ugly on a dark wood pergola. The second part isn't the product's fault, but just more of a caveat for anyone considering something similar. It lasted less than a year before we had to throw it away, and honestly we could barely tell a difference after it was gone (we had added this upon moving into our house).

Mine obviously came not brand new, but looked ok. It came with a package that was torn (I am talking about inside package - the original one). Everything was unfolded and just messy folded and one of the strings was missing, but we still put it on to see how it looks and we liked it. Also, it feels like in is a bit smaller that it says.

As advertised

This product has worked well for blocking the sun on the west side of our home. I know it's cut our electric bill at least some. We installed it using the ties that are sewed on panel, however the first wind and rain storm tore the ties off. So I sewed a little block of fabric and put grumbles to hook onto the house. No problems with rain or wind since that.I would still recommend this product to block the sun but if you are in an area of wind and rain just install the grumbles before you attach to your hooks.

We thought a pergola would help our very hot and sunny deck. It didn’t really do the job. When we found this cover on Amazon, the price and the size were a such a close match we had to try it. The loose weave allows the sunlight in, but it is diffuse. Even direct hot sun is comfortable. It does not protect you from rain however. Rain comes right through the weave. This is a great buy!

I should have ordered the one with grommets. The tie downs are ok but I wanted the sun shade to sit flush on top of my pergola.Due to wind pulling on the shade at times!
