Impressive
I'm relatively new to the world of audiophilia, but wow was I impressed with these. I listen to just about every genre of music, and I haven't found a song I didn't enjoy listening to with these cans.Build: They are a little bulky on the ears, so on-the-go use would probably be limited to sitting through a plane ride or on the bus. However, they are extremely comfortable! Being closed back, they keep sound in, but combined with leather earcups they may make your ears hot after a couple hours. The headband is metal with detachable padding (will touch on this shortly), so the slight clamp on your ears may be difficult to change. The build quality is superb, high quality plastic with a metal headband, and the plush cushioning makes for a very comfortable fit.Sound quality: Wow. Probably not for those that listen to solely classical or jazz music, but if you love heavy, CLEAN bass, these headphones are definitely for you. The level of bass is adjustable, with the closed setting producing a linear response, and the open setting producing a strong, clean bassline with minimal distortion. From experience I can tell you that a couple of my friends (who owned Beats) were impressed with the bass, because they could actually hear the other musical elements of their songs.Customization: yep, they're customizable. You have the ability to replace the bass level (as mentioned previously), headband, earpads, cable, even the metal plating on the sides of the cans! This allows you to make the headphones exclusive to you, and is quite interesting to say the least.Overall: comfortable with a solid build quality, sounds best when paired with rock, rap, EDM, country, and alternative genres, and well worth the price. Hope this helps!

Beginning audiophile headphones
These are a great value for less than the $200 range. These headphones usually go under the price of $200 which is the value of these headphones.Comfort and design: 3/5 on Comfort and 5/5 on DesignThese cans are remarkably built for $200 cans. The design is slick and clean. These headphones are built of half velcro/leather and metal. These cans aren't very comfortable though. I hate the clamping headphones on these cans. At first, I couldn't wear these for longer than 1 hour tops. I had to take them off ,and I would find myself keeping them off. The COP's pleather (fake leather) earpads make my ears hot and sweaty. I would say I have an average sized head and ears ,and these fit decently. To find better comfort I would recommend getting the stock Beyerdynamic DT770 earpads. Suede has better comfort, and I believe pleather earpads get too hot and sweaty for me.Packaging and Accessories: 4/5The packaging includes: The headphones, 1/4" adapter, and warranty and manuel. No case but I believe these aren't portable headphones. These headphones don't get much more than an average set of headphones for the price of $200. The box shows a couple of specs ,and it shows the FR of this headphone.Sound: 4/5These have amazing sound. I have only tried them with my iPod and iMac. I have approximately 100+ of burn in time. For maximum "burn in" leave these overnight playing music while you're sleeping. I can't believe the burn in time made such a difference. I guess it's because the drivers need to be loosened up to reach their full potential. I can't stress enough that these cans won't sound good enough until the 50hr "burn in" time.Bass Ports:The 1st port is the most neutral sound that audiophiles tend to prefer. The 1st port is for people that want a less bassy ,more neutral sound. The 2nd port loosens up the bass ,and gives off a more fun sound. The 3rd port to me is the best port to leave the headphones on. I read reviews on the COP ,and I tend to agree that the 3rd port gives the COP the best sound. With the 3rd port the sound is bassy ,but it's not too neutral or too bassy. The 4th port is for the people that want to hear their heads shake from the bass. With the 4th port, you get the beyerdynamic bass most people love. It is strong in all the songs, but maybe the 4th port's bass is too overpowering in some songs. If you want to hear the bass switch over to the 4th port or maybe you want neutral clear sound so switch over the 1st port. It makes a difference in the bass ports slots ,so I would highly recommends these to people that listen to any type of music.Highs:The highs sound clear ,and have the sound that is great. The highs are really great in this headphone, and I tend to enjoy the highs, lows, and bass most in this headphone. At times though, the highs would blend in with the mids. This would happen rarely ,but I did notice it in some songs. The highs are great ,and I can't complain much.Mids:This is the part in which these cans struggle. The mids are recessed. I hate that the mids are recessed, but I did notice that the mids were recessed after comparison's with other cans. The weak point in this headphone is the mids and the treble. Still the mids are good ,but are not the star of the show. I wish they made a revision of this headphone with more foreword mids and treble. The mids aren't noticably bad unless you compare them too higher end cans ranging from $400. I didn't find them to be that bothersome when I had the COP's.Lows and Bass:This is where the headphone's excel. Beyerdynamic is know for their hard hitting bass. The bass is strong and gets better on the 4th port. The lows are great, and I enjoy the headphones that reproduce tight, clean bass. The lows make the headphones shake on a hard hitting bass song. I take off my headphones off sometimes and push the pads together, and it kind of rumbles. On hard hitting bass songs I can fell the bass moving the cans. The lows are great, and the headphones don't have bloated ,and uncontrolled bass. Beyerdynamic headphones are great for lows and bass.Treble:The treble is just as recessed as the mids. I tend to love sparkly treble. I hate headphones that have that "laid back" or ear piercing treble. The treble would be gone in some songs. Like I said earlier in the review though, I didn't notice it until I compared with higher end cans. The treble isn't the best ,but it was there when you needed it in songs. These headphones are amazing for the price. These benefit from an amplifier, but can get distorted at high volumes do to the 16 OHM Impedance. These are easily driven by a small Fiio E6.Comparison: Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro vs. Sennheiser HD558I had to sell the COP's due to wanting anther headphone. I bought a used Sennheiser HD 558, but I used the money from the COP's to buy the Sennheiser's. Do I prefer the senneheiser's to the COP's? At times yes, due to the clarity of the sennheiser's ,but I do miss that hard hitting bass of the COP's. I can't do a full comparison ,but I do have a great memory of the COP sound.Highs:The highs from the sennheiser's are better due to the clarity of the sennheiser's. Like I said earlier in the review, the highs of the COP would bleed into the mids. From memory this would happen with some songs, but not all. For the highs the sennheiser's would be better than the COP's.Sennheiser HD558: 1 Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro: 0Mids:I think you can guess which headphone will this round. Sennheiser's have the best mids I have ever heard in a headphone. The COP's lose badly due to the recessed mids. The sennheiser mids are the keypoint in that headphone.Sennheiser HD558: 2 Beyerdynamic Custome One Pro: 0Lows:The lows are amazing on the COP's ,while not so much on the sennheiser's. The senneheiser barley pass the test on the lows, but the COP's excel on the low end.Sennheiser HD558: 2 Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro: 1Bass:This round is just as unfair as the mids comparison. The COP's are centered around bass heavy sound, so they obviously win this round. Sennheiser's don't have hard hitting bass, but they do provide tight, clean bass.Sennheiser HD558: 2 Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro: 2Treble:Both headphone lack in treble synergy. Both have not recessed ,but laid back treble. From memory though I might prefer the sennheiser's ,while the other day I might prefer the COP"s.Sennheiser HD558: 3 Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro: 3Soundstage and Imaging:Senneheiser's win this round with ease. The sennheiser sound is based on clarity and soundstage. Sennheiser's flagship headphone is the HD800 which is possibly the "King of Soundstage". The COP's had average sounding soundstage ,but closed cans always lose to open cans in soundstage. Kind of unfair, so I will not count this towards the sennheiser''s.Sennheiser HD558: 3 Beyerdynamic Custome One Pro: 3Both are amazing headphones, and I would love to have both. I had to sell the COP's to buy the HD558's ,and somedays I regret that. Other days I don't , but both are great headphones under the $200 range.

Good Sound, Very Hot
These sound good, but they are so hot when you put them on. If they had a different materiel around the ears it would be a much better product.

great sound, not so great QC.
Well, I'll start off by saying that these are some very nice sounding headphones.First the pros.1. Looks, they look very nice. But that is subjective.2. Materials, seems very sturdy. Also has replaceable earpads and head band.3. Sound is very good, and the adjustable bass port works as advertised. Very smooth. Deep lows but not overpowering, lightly recessed mids. Good treb.4. Value, with adjustable ports I feel like I'm getting 3 headphones in one.5. Very comfortable, can wear for long periods.Should fit most unless yr ears stick out a lot, but then I'm sure that's a problem for most headphones. Now for the con's.1. Wire connecting one earcup to another just hangs lose under the headband.2. The grommets where the wire enters the earcups touch the metal that connects band to earcups.3. The included 3.5mm cable feels cheap and is notched where it enters earcup. Did find aftermarket's that fit.4. The biggest problem is balance. These were off centered to the left.5. The left speaker blew out after about 6hrsI returned these and bought a pair from the company themselves through an auction site. They sounded that good, so I had to buy them. Now here is why only 2 stars, not only did the ones I got from amazon have issues and fail, but the second pair did as well (balance) Now seeing as this pair is from the company that makes them, its clear that quality control is an issue and therefore cannot reccomend.I kept the second pair and bought a inline balance control. Still use them, but they just aren't that enjoyable knowing I have balance problems. I have 6 pairs of other branded headphones that have no balance issues.Good sound, bad QC.
