The Blumo as they call it (Blue + Sumo) is a nice dive watch to own if you are a Seiko diver fan.
Seiko is considered a great company for making diver style watches. This is a great example of this. The case looks very high quality with all the work dedicated to shaping the curves as well as using the contrasting polished and brushed surface areas of the case. Visually, the bracelet looks good. But in reality, the bracelet is where it has its flaws. The claps looks good when it is closed and the way it flows into the diver extention area when the clasp is closed looks really nice. The finishing on the clasp when closed looks uniformed with polishing on the sides and brushed on the face of the clasp. When you open the clasp, you get a piece of stamped metal. The stamped metal is an area they should not have cut corners on for this price of watch. Especially considering more affordable models like the Sarb035 have a forged piece of metal. I will say the closing action of the clasp feels really nice because it is very smooth when you lock it together and fold over the additional fold-over lock. I only point this out because another Seiko I own has the same clasp and feels rough when fully closing as though the fold over part was not meant to fold over. I love the look of the bracelet as far as the 5 link look, though I think it is really just 3 links with some polishing to appear the middle link is 3 links. This is fine, looks really nice to me. The issue is the endlinks. The endlinks are solid which is great but they do not feel properly shaped so sometimes if I put pressure on the the bracelet like I am turning my bezel or something, it makes a little pop noise/feeling like you are cracking your knuckles or something. It is very annoying and I do not know if this happens with all models of this sort but it is an issue. Something else that is minor to me but not to some, the glass. This orice range should have sapphire but uses hardlex. This does not bother me at all because the glass is clear and I do not use my watch in a rough way. But I do understand the point that, if the Sarb035 can get it and it cost less, this model should have it as well.So to wrap up, I feel this watch really has some qualities that resemble a Grand Seiko ish design and it looks amazing. It has some drawback but these are things you will not notice when it is on your wrist.

Great Watch - Take it to a qualified jeweler to adjust the bracelet band
Amazingly, the watch showed up at the post office within 5 days. Had to sign for it as it was shipped via international (Japan). Watch came with all the documentation and was operational (running) when I opened the box. No complaints on the watch what-so-ever. However, as with most watches with a bracelet band, you'll need to adjust it by removing or adding links. It came with extra links and spindles/pins with barrels/sleeves. The pins are not the usual spring loaded type that you simply slide through the links and into the opposing holes to secure the band. The "Turtle" bracelet comes with an obnoxiously, difficult pin and barrel/sleeve configuration. Firstly, if you wear reading glasses and have high blood pressure, do NOT attempt to make the band adjustment yourself. Take it to a watch dealer who is KNOWLEDGEABLE regarding Seiko brand pins of this nature. I'm not a newbie with Seiko watches owning seven of them presently. The pins have one end that is thicker than the other as they are designed this way to slide through the links and wedge itself in position once fully seated. The other side is secured with what they call a barrel or sleeve that slides (haha!) into the opposite end of the link, over the inserted pin, thus expanding and securing the opposite end. The components are extremely tiny, especially the barrel. Jeweler's tools are necessary to get the job done unless you have extra barrels and pins. I recommend you have about 1000 extras for the job unless you're extremely lucky to get a perfectly designed barrel that matches up perfectly with the pin and all the holes. Trust me, it'll never happen! The extra barrels I recommend are because you will lose most of them while attempting this process. You may read some comments on here from other purchasers telling you that it's not that difficult. Pure BS. Yes, I managed to finally get it to work after losing two of the barrels. I think/hope the barrel that worked is fully seated as everything appears embedded into the link on both sides as I am told it should be. However, I check often to see if the pin or the barrel on the other side might be protruding. If you lose the barrel, the pin comes out and the watch comes off your wrist, maybe unnoticed by you. $450.00 just went down the toilet. Do the smart thing. Take the watch to a "qualified" jeweler who's familiar with this type of pin/barrel assembly to to the job right. The watch is great. The idiot that works for Seiko, who designed the pin/barrel mechanism for the bracelet links should be shot.

Nice watch
I bought this watch inJune of 2019 and have worn it since I got it. I like it very much. The case and band are attractive and the watch has the heft of a quality watch. It has kept fairly good time. It has consistently lost about 8 seconds per day since I got it. I thought it was malfunctioning about a year ago when it stopped every few days even though I was wearing it 24 hours per day except when I showered. I sent it in to be checked and they (Assurion) told me that they put it on a winder for a few days and it stayed wound. I don’t understand why it wouldn’t stay wound for me because I am quite active, but, in any event, I started winding it manually every so often and haven’t had any further problem. The only other problem I’ve encountered is that the Hardlex crystal scratches fairly easily and I have put a couple scratches in it. All in all, it is a nice watch and a good value for the money (although I was able to buy mine in 2019 for about 60% of the currently advertised price.)

Absolutely beautiful watch, built like a tank!
I’ve gone back and forth over the Blume for a year now, but, I finally pulled the trigger. I am glad I did. This is a big, bold, beautiful watch that lives up to Seiko’s reputation. I didn’t like the bracelet, so, I replaced it with a dark blue CrafterBlue rubber strap. Much more comfortable... this heavy beast bounced around like crazy with the bracelet.Accuracy is really good; I keep it on a bi-directional 500 rpd winder, but, if it isn’t worn, it will lose a few minutes a week. This isn’t a bad thing... my watches are in a rotation, so, it gives me a reason to handle it every week. I love this watch and expect to pass it down to my grandson one day.

Just awesome. Finishing of body is spectacular at this price ...
Just awesome. Finishing of body is spectacular at this price point. The whole watch has a solidity of one costing several times more. Wears smaller than its dimensions suggest. Love it.

Seiko Sumo - a superb watch
The Seiko Prospex SDDC033 “Sumo” automatic is a beautiful, well-constructed premium Seiko divers watch. The polished and brushed finishing is flawless and the bezel with legible dial makes this watch look striking. Seiko’s Lumibrite is the best I’ve seen. The illumination charges fast, glows bright, and lasts a long time. The watch has some “heft” but not too heavy. The metal bracelet and offset crown makes this very comfortable to wear all day long. The Seiko “in-house” mechanical movement (23 jewels) is quite reliable and has a power reserve of about 2 days. This is my 3rd Seiko, and from past experience the movement should run accurately for a decade or more before needing any maintenance or service. Even though the hardex crystal looks good, this watch should have a sapphire crystal to make it exceptional.

Im over the Moon
I am very happy with my new Seiko SUMO SBDC033 Prospex Air Diver, The fit and finish is excellent and the performance is stellar.I have been testing the accuracy of this handsome timepiece using my iPhone8+ and it is +1.7seconds per day. This is amazing for a mechanical watch.I am also pleased with the sellers professionalism and promptness. I actually received the watch several days earlier than the projected date. The watch was received well wrapped and protected against damage. I am very pleased with this purchase and very happy with the seller.
