By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them
The same day I received this book, I immediately started reading it and after reading just the 1st 2 chapters, I used the healing technique the author describes in chapter 2 and HEALED myself of a nagging injury that had been bothering me - I had fallen at a pool but in the act of catching myself on the railing closeby, I had pulled several abdominal & back muscles as well as dislocating 2 ribs in the process. I had been to a chiropractor several times with only minor results and had been experiencing ongoing pain & discomfort for over 3 weeks, only barely helped by the handfuls of Aleve I'd been taking. It hurt to breathe, I could not sleep at night, and sitting at my desk at work was an ongoing exercise in endurance. After reading Chapter 2 "Assisted Healing", I applied the techniques the author outlined and my pain instantly vanished. Whereas it had been painful just to breathe and I had been extremely reluctant to sneeze because of the ensuing agony it would cause, I am now pain-free. I always knew the mind was powerful but I had no idea of the magnitude of that power. There is another review below where the reviewer questions the author's credentials but I want to say to him and to anyone else reading this that "BY THEIR FRUITS, YE SHALL KNOW THEM." I don't really care where Dr Hawkins got his enlightenment from - truth is truth and all I know is that I've read 3 of his books - "Power -vs-Force", "Letting Go", and now this one "Healing & Recovery" and I've discovered for myself the truth of what he conveys. The proof is in the application of his teachings & techniques and after my healing experience after just the first 2 chapters, I look forward to reading & applying the rest of the book to the subjects he covers - especially sexuality & weight loss. I also like the way his information is applicable regardless of your religious persuasion. I always had been taught that we must guard our thoughts and now I understand in a NON-religious context exactly why that is such a true statement.I highly recommend this book for any honest truth-seeker. Put it to the test for yourself. The proof is in the pudding, as the old saying goes. As Christ put it, "By their fruits (THEIR RESULTS) ye shall know them." I know for myself that what he lays out so plainly really works because I applied it within an hour of receiving my book and healed myself. But don't just take my word for it. Get the book & see for yourself. "You are an Infinite being...subject only to what you keep in mind..."

Timeless Information
I can apply the information represented in Dr. Hawkins' book. I've mastered the cancel exercise. I use it often throughout the day to the point of alleviating aches and pains. I thought I was feeling fantastic before I read his book. I'm feeling more fantastic. I learn something new each time I read it. Something else jumps out at me during the next reading. A must have in your library of self-help books!

Hawkins and His Work: For Real?
Years ago when Dr. Hawkins Truth vs. Falsehood was first published I became one of the early "adopters" and spread word of his remarkable work. I bought his subsequent books and with some difficulty read them but did not absorb his message as thoroughly as now. Also, I had the privilege of meeting him at Agape and getting "the feel of him" there. I can say unequivocally that Healing and Recovery is his most accessible, most readable and most personal work that I have seen. It is a goldmine of practical information on subjects such as how to lose weight, how to overcome pain and suffering, how to conquer life-threatening physical problems and recover permanently and more. This book deserves the widest distribution to all who are looking for physical and spiritual solutions to their problems and afflictions. It should be No. 1 on the NYT bestseller list. I heartily endorse it and plan to integrate its concepts and practical advice into my life.Post Script:I wrote the above at a time when I was deep into Hawkins' writings and philosophy. My thoughts and feelings were genuine. Since the, however, I learned more about David Hawkins from one of his close early advocates (like myself). It turns out that David was something of a fraud, so were his so-called degrees, obtained online. His muscle testing for truth which expanded way beyond the kinesiological logic of testing for compatibility of substances and foods, was never replicated or widely used. I bought a lot of his books and video tapes. Anyone for a garagesale?

Very good book
Lots of good info. He reiterates the power of belief/mind so much that it altered my beliefs for the better. After reading the chapter on weight loss, I set a goal to lose 10 pounds in 7 days.I lost 14 pounds in 7 days and I have kept it off.239 to 225.He also stresses how much unconcious guilt most people have and how it causes so many of the illnesses that we have. I highly recommend this book for ANY body. I did buy it mainly for the Alcoholism section. He mostly just touts AA. But in spite of not getting all I may have hoped for on alcoholism specifically it is well worth reading.

Let there be light!
This book is a tremendous gift to mankind. Having read all of Dr. Hawkins' books, I believe he has saved his best for last (although I do hope his publishing company continues to put out more great material in the future). I am giving out copies of Healing and Recovery to friends and family, and plan to do so in the future. With all the talk today about health care reform, what better plan could there be than the one outlined by Dr. Hawkins in this book: Letting go and surrendering all to Perfect Love.Healing and Recovery is beyond 5-stars. I highly recommend this book. Buy it. Read it. Read it again and again. Buy copies for your friends and family. Study it in groups. Make the book a centerpiece of your life. May you rise in consciousness and live a life of love and light, just as God intended from the beginning.
