Could be cleaner and not chipped. Good otherwise.
I love the heavy weight, anodized steel, construction, et cetera, though the plastic wrap on top of the leather wrap was filled with cardboard dust, so it was not as tight or secure as it could have been, and there was a chip out an error in the steel making process that left a small chip. My sensei approved of them, though, with some minor repairs to cover the plastic part. I'll be able to use these for years.

Solid equipment
I was looking for a pair that would take some abuse and these fit the bill perfectly. Not the chrome covered alloys that fail when subjected to some real contact. A very good value.
