Fun
I love this book! When my grandchildren were learning to read we discovered Splat the Cat. It is so cute and fun to read. So I had to buy the book and introduce my great nieces and nephew to Splat the Cat.

Cute book!
Both of my kids love splat the cat and this one is a favorite. To be honest, it isn’t the best ‘touch + feel’ book, but that doesn’t bother me because I didn’t buy it for that reason.

Quality the book, not for my family however
For my 4 year old, I found this book to be a little over complicated. Cause and effect aren't really her strong suit yet so the occasional jumps kind of left her confused. As much as I hate reading books to her where everything is uber spelled out, this book taught me the necessity of that which is so loathsome to read as an adult. Regardless, the book is very cute. I was a little worried about this book causing new issues once I started reading it, sometime reading about anxiety in a character can trigger it in a child (I've found), but that was really my own mistake not reading the book ahead of time to prepare myself. Not my daughter, or my own favorite book, but solid, well written, and well illustrated.

Adorable cat and great book!. My sister-in-law is a librarian, and says this is the most requested book by 3-6 year old parents.
What a lovable and cute cat! My 3 year old daughter just started preschool and sometimes has separation anxiety on drop-off or insists on staying home with mommy for the day. This story is about a cat that was nervous to go to school on his first day, and then realizes that it's so much fun and a place to meet many cool friends. My sister-in-law is a librarian and told me that this was the most popular "new" book in the last couple years, and gets many requests from kids 3-6 years old. I can understand why it's so popular because the cat drawings are adorable and every kid that goes to school can relate to Splat the Cat.

My son loved it!
I downloaded this book for my son to read during the school year for his accelerated reader test. He read the book at night before he went to bed. Woke up the next morning and I quized him on the book, he went to school took his AR Test scored a hundred! He was super excited because he only read the book once and he understood what he read. He is a rising 2nd Grade student.I look forward to him reading more books by this author on his Kindle Fire that Santa will be bringing him!

A little dirty, over all great.
Other than there being dirty black fingerprints all over the book, it was in great condition.

Great book for kids!
My daughter enjoyed it. She’s 5 and was able to read it on her own. Some words are challenging but they repeat hem so she was able to memorize them by the end of the book. The illustrations were great and was overall a funny and cute book.

Great little character and his adventure on his first day of school
This little character is just so much fun. It's his first day of school and he really didn't want to go, he made all the excuses and then brought his little pet mouse with him. The adventure they go on, the teacher and the class room of cats are so funny - because (cat's chase mice) but obviously Splat doesn't. I loved reading this and the kids really enjoyed it too.The images are really good, really detailed and the text is great for reading aloud. The author is probably famous for his other character Russell the Sheep which we all loved too. Suitable for 4 years upwards and worth having in your collection.

Its ok!
My three year old toddler loves Splat the Investigator and we read that over and over again hence I purchased this book. Unfortunately this story book does not appeal to him and I can understand as there is no real excitement, not like `Splat the Investigator'. This is a book about splat the cat who is worried about his first day at school and makes excuses up not to go. A little disappointing compared to the other title. The illustrations are very good.

Original Splat books are great
My 3 year old daughter loves Splat. The large picture book format is glossy and the pictures are beautifully drawn. The continuity of characters throughout the series (Spike, Plank, Splat, Seymour etc) means younger readers feel a connection with them. The storylines are easy to understand and it almost feels like you are viewing works of art on every page as much as reading a book. Only thing to beware is that not all Splat books are the same size and some are 'based on the creation of Rob Scotton' rather than authored by Rob. Stick to the originals and you won't be dissapointed

Wonderful illustrations to accompany a simple story that little ones can relate to. You just can't help laughing.
