The Milwaukee Connection: Spokane to Butte (Images of Modern America) Paperback – Illustrated, June 18, 2018

Great book nice photos. Only drawback is that the book is rather small in size.

We had just been out to Montana and had seen the abandoned right of way along I-90 along with a stop at the St Paul pass tunnel so it was interesting to see what it was like all those years ago. As mentioned in other reviews, there are mostly pictures I had not seen before in this book. My only negative is I wish the pictures could have been larger but understand it probably has to do with cost. All in all, a great book for anyone who's a Milwaukee Road fan or a history buff.

Definitely worth the money for folks interested in the Milwaukee Road. Not much text - almost entirely pictures with good captions. All pictures are color and there was only one that I think I had seen previously in other books or magazines. The only thing I though it was lacking was a map to help visualize where the pictures were taken. Printing quality was good and actually printed in the USA. One minor error on page 42 - GE built a total of 20 "Little Joe" electrics, not 12. MILW did buy 12 but the other 8 went to other companies.

This is a terrific book for any railroader or railfan, the more so if you have a particular interest in the Milwaukee Road. As other reviewers have noted, the book consists primarily of great photographs, and they're all in color. Most readers will not have seen these photos before, which provides an additional level of interest. The captions are interesting and exceptionally informative; the author clearly knows his subject well. A worthy addition to my railroad bookshelf - or yours.

This book has close to 200 color pictures with informative captions. I have many books on the Milwaukee and many internet images too , but all the pictures in this book are new to me. A little treasure
