My son learn how to break the seal and pull them up pretty quickly. This hasn't been a huge deal breaker for me. As long as there is food on the plate and he wants to eat, he will leave the edge of the plates alone. I use them for every meal and especially love them for eating out. I never go with out one. It depends but if the wood is not complete smooth or is porous, these mats will not stick as well! Is there anything that can be done to avoid it?** A: Not that I know of. **Q: I can’t seem to get it to stick to the Graco tray. Am I missing something?** A: I've only stuck this to our dining table, but you have to make sure both surfaces are completely clean and dry. To seal the green bowl, I place the bowl where I want it, push down inside the bowl, then press around the mat outside of the bowl. Pull to make sure it sticks. The only problem is that the edge of the mat is too wide so it doesn’t fit my high chair so obviously it has no suction on the high chair cause it doesn’t seal but if i place it in any other surface any other table where the edges fully seal has amazing suction i love them, my baby is unable to take it off the table, floor or counter!!
