Delicious coffee, attractive maker
Impressive coffee maker! And it’s attractive, minimalistic, and designed well! Coffee tastes great; way better tasting than what came out of my very dependable, but eventually dying of old age, Hamilton Beach. The machine is easy to set up, program, add water, add and empty grounds, and clean. Paper filters aren’t needed and won’t be polluting the planet. The coffee is perfectly hot at the original temp setting and will stay hot for 2-3 hours, depending on the chosen burner on/off time. The coffee temp can be increased with a different set up. I’ve never had a problem or errors with the machine in the 7 months that I’ve used it 3-4x/wk. No overflows; which, I would guess resulted from user error. Based on how we insert into the maker the two coffee ground holders, it’s possible to insert one or the other pieces out of alignment. It doesn’t feel like a design defect, though. These two pieces are cone shaped, like a cone coffee filter. One piece is a thick black holder that dispenses and guides coffee into the pot and holds the mesh coffee filter. We remove these two to clean the grounds and liquid coffee remnants. There’s an edge divot to direct proper insertion of the black holder, and we can feel a slight snap when the first/black holder is inserted into the maker. The mesh cone needs to sit in and align with the black holder below it. It’s pretty straightforward; but, its alignment importance may need to be more significantly highlighted in the manual. Maybe this part of the set up gets overlooked as we robotically prep our coffee. The last few seconds of the brewing cycle is loud, kind of like the pump is pushing steam through the machine…similar to the sound of an espresso machine. The carafe is 14 cups which can lead to a heavier pour. Personally, I quickly got used to it and like the bigger size. The pour doesn’t spill or drip on the counter. The carafe’s lid removes and cleans easily. The last bits of brewed coffee get caught on the carafe’s rim and won’t pour. I dread the conflict and compromise of either using a straw to drink from the carafe black coffee (coffee needs milk and sweetener!) and the guilt of washing down the drain that liquid gold. The turmoil is worth it, though!

My New Favorite!
This is my third Cuisinart coffee maker of a similar type and it is hands down the my favorite! Each of the prior ones lasted about five years. They may have lasted longer had I been more faithful to proper cleaning but they eventually suffered from hard water lime buildup. They have all made a fine cup of coffee. But pot alone, no matter the brand or cost, will turn pre-ground grocery store coffee into a great cup! I grind my own coffee right before use, measured by weight for each pot, from locally roasted beans. So what makes it my favorite? It's sleek and absolutely beautiful on my kitchen counter! The surface is easy to clean, with no buttons to collect dirt. It makes 14 cups, two cups more than my other Cuisinarts. And I love the digital display. There's really nothing complicated about it if you pay attention to the instructions. Touch sensitivity is good and it holds previous settings from pot to pot unless you want to make a change. I love the side window that shows water level! With my older Cuisinarts I would...honest to gosh...have to stand on my tippietoes with a flashlight to look down into the water well and make sure I didn't overfill. The purchase of pot alone includes a reusable filter, no need to buy that separately, but be aware that those filters will allow sediment to drip through to your pot and spoil the cup. It also includes one water filter, which is quite easy to change, but after filtering my water in a Brita pitcher I find no need to refilter the water. The pot works just as normal without it. It arrived extremely well packaged. In fact it was almost like opening a Russian Matryoshka doll with a cardboard box inside a larger cardboard box and inside those was the store display box with the pot inside protected by more cardboard...no Styrofoam...bonus! I doubt anything less than a truck running over it could have broken the glass carafe. Like my previous Cuisinarts, settings allow you to turn off the burner as soon as the coffee has dripped through. Or you can choose H, M or L temperature if you like but leaving coffee on a hot burner makes for burnt tasting coffee very quickly. Much tastier to rewarm in the microwave if it has cooled. There's a wide range of settings, so it's easy to personalize in a way that meets your needs. How long it will last is hard to say but my previous Cuisinarts served me well for years and hopefully this one will too.

Works great... Until it starts leaking Also Read The Reviews!
Purchased in November 2015. Love the look of it, worked perfectly until June 24th, 2022, which is when it started leaking out the bottom. 4th one over the past several years that had the same problem. There are 2 rubber hoses in the bottom that take water from the tank and pass to the heater and then send it to lid to spray over the grinds. One is fairly easy to access can be repaired/ replaced. the second is farther down and much harder to get at, which of course is the one leaking on our machine. It starts leaking (slowly) as soon as you put water in the reservoir. The good news is that if you turn it on immediately, it stops leaking once the reservoir is empty and you have your coffee. Still... $129 for 1 year and 7 months? Not so good. The trouble is that we love having a 14 cup coffeemaker. Especially since the size of a cup keeps getting smaller. And it is good hot coffee. It is still the best we've found but Cuisinart must know this is an issue, and one that could be remedied but sadly they have not attempted to do that. My other issue is that in looking at the reviews for "this coffee maker" most of them are for other products. Grinders , toasters etc. especially the lower ratings. How is that helpful????

Great tasting coffee, reliably hot temp, easy to program
When my Hamilton Beach coffee maker decided to stop working after 7 years of daily use, I took a peek at Consumer Reports to see what they recommended - and saw the Cuisinart DCC-T20 among their top-rated. That very day, I ordered one from Amazon, along with a package of Melitta #4 Cone Coffee Filters. I've used the same brand of coffee beans and the same grind (I have a burr grinder) for years so I was able to compare the "quality of the cup" easily. I can without reservation tell you that the Cuisinart DCC-T20 coffee maker, paired with the Melitta #4 filters, makes an outstanding pot of coffee. Controls on this model are pressure-sensitive "buttons" hidden behind a shiny black face-plate. A gentle tap on the always-visible On/Off "button" makes all of the others light up. The options available are self-evident and I found the black face-plate surprisingly resistant to greasy fingerprint smudges. I drink my coffee black and use a dark roasted bean, with my grind set between expresso and drip (medium fine?). I prefer to taste the flavor of the coffee beans - and *not* cream and sugar (bleh), so I always tap the "bold" setting on. I also make 8 cups at a time, so I've never used the 1-4 cups setting. I did have to prepare a pot very early in the morning once, and relied on the timer to fire-up the machine at 4 AM. It worked flawlessly, thank goodness...! The coffee maker comes with about 30 seconds worth of assembly required: a small water filter that looks like a miniature oval Keureg cup must be (unwrapped and) pressed into its holder at the base of a plastic wand. Once this done, the wand itself is inserted into the open corner where water is poured. The base of the wand slips snugly into a hole at the bottom of the water reservoir. You'll have to pass a couple of carafes of plain water through the coffee-making cycle in order to remove any charcoal dust from the filter element. Once you've done this, you're all set. I included a photo - untouched and unabashedly displaying all its early morning glory - of what the cone filter looks like after making my standard 8-cup pot. You can see that the spent coffee grind never approaches the top of the filter, so there's never a chance that you'll find any stray grinds at the bottom of a cup. I can't vouch for the same result if you use other filter size/brands. My only complaint is a minor one: the corner opening where the water is poured into the reservoir is, by design, a bit small when using the carafe itself to fill the reservoir. There is an opaque plastic window that runs up one side of the DCC with a scale that matches up perfectly with the 14-cup scale etched onto the glass of the carafe. So if you use a separate vessel to fill the coffee maker, you can use this and be assured that your water volume is accurate - and doing so would eliminate this complaint. BTW, the footprint of the coffee maker is about 7" X 9" X 14."

Brews Great & Hot Cup of Coffee & Stay Hot for 2 hrs
I don't know why they discontinued this coffee pot. It was one of the best I have ever purchased. It keeps your coffee hot for probably 2 hrs, and when I say hot it is hot. It brews a wonderful cup of coffee, and I love the design. It is sleek and beautifulin my opinion. A black screen until you touch it. They should bring this pot back. I would highly recommend it again, and again.

Better Than Before
We purchased the Cuisinart DCC-3200P1 five years ago for $99 and it recently died. $20/year for a coffee pot isn't bad, but it would have been nice to get a couple more years out of it. What we really like about the DCC-T20 is how similar it is to the DCC-3200P1 and the subtle improvements. Similarities: 1) The Carafe is identical. So now we have an extra one in case one breaks. 2) The charcoal water filters are identical, so now we don't have to throw out the one year supply we had on hand. 3) The basket is the same, so we don't have to buy new paper filters (even though both units came with a reusable filter, we saw an article about Norwegians who developed more cancer, so we switched to paper). On that last point, there is definitely LESS flavor with paper than the reusable filter. You can "mostly" compensate by using the Bold option on this unit prior to brewing (as you could with our previous model). Improvements: 1) Looks much nicer 2) Tone when finished is quieter - this may seem silly to some, but early in the morning, when everyone else was sleeping, if I forgot to turn the tone off, it was so loud it would wake up people sleeping. They toned it down with this model to a really nice level. Now, it's true, once turned off the tone stays off, just like our previous model, but for some reason over the last two years, we've had a lot of short brownouts, that reset the coffee maker (which is why the tone kept coming back on). Other than those improvements, the unit is identical to the $99 Cuisinart DCC-3200P1 still being sold. So if those two things aren't worth the extra money, don't buy this unit. Amazon threw in some last minute coupon dropping the price down to $109, so we felt the $10 was worth it. $30 might be a little steep.

Makes good coffee and easy to use
I needed a new coffee machine after my ninja of only 2 years died. Since I am the only one who drinks coffee I couldn't justify getting that expensive of a coffee maker. I found this and I've had Cuisinart in the past and have always been happy so thought I'd give it a try. Yep makes good coffee what more can I say. I do use an old orange juice container that I put a mark on it for the half a pot of coffee that I drink per day so it's easy to refill the water for the exact amount I want. The instructions were clear and the heating unit keeps the coffee at a perfect temperature while I'm drinking it.

Didn't hold up
The coffee pot makes pretty good coffee. The option for reg or strong brew is nice as is the ability to make 1-4 cups when needed. Unfortunately there are problems with it as well. I may be a bit OCD but it bothers me that you can't put all the water from the carafe into the machine. The lid and shape of the carafe prohibits this as the lid only opens to 90⁰. While trying to empty it one day, one of the attachments of the lid to the body of the machine broke. Now we have to be sure the lid is seated before turning on the machine. There is also a nice feature that indicates the machine needs cleaning. That light also controls a slower cleaning cycle. After less than a year of use, that feature is no longer working. I'm now waiting for more things to fail. Such a sad pot from a company that used to have the best

Be careful if you are Canadian, otherwise, a great machine.
You will get a very good brew from this coffeemaker. Touch screen is very responsive and honestly, the options are beyond my needs but good to have. I use the paper filter as it hold more, especially if you are brewing a full pot but for those 4 to 5 cups brews, the gold foil filter would work fine. I have to cons: 1. The carafe cannot tilt fully unobstructed to fill the water reservoir. The last cup of water takes a patient slow pour and using the slim channel between filter basket and outside edge that feeds into the reservoir. 2. As a Canadian, I was hit with an unexpected $46.64 bill from Fedex. I could understand the $6.21 Pst/Gst but the remaining $40.43 was a hard pill as it came with no warning.

Makes excellent coffee.
The title of the review says it all - the brew is superb, even when making one cup. I highly recommend weighing your coffee on a gram scale to get consistent results. I like my coffee strong so I use 18 grams per cup and use the "Bold" setting. I do have one complaint, and it's one I have had with almost every coffee maker I have owned. It's difficult to pour the water into the reservoir as the angle of the lid blocks the necessary tilt of the carafe to empty it completely. My solution is to lift the carafe higher as I pour, but that is a delicate operation that can lead to water everywhere if you are less than steady of hand.
