I'll blame it on myself that I didn't pay close enough attention to the product description about the type of material these are made from after searching for fabric placemats, so I consider it my fault when it turned out to be some cheap platic-y stuff. The main issue I had is the staining that results from anything red spilling on them. After a pretty great dinner of Italian food with red sauce, two of the placemats ended up with red stains. After trying everything I could think of to hand clean them, I put them in the washer and then even the dishwasher with no luck. Permanent stains. Very disappointed but it's ok because now I can justify replacement placemats that are actually what I want!

Not easy to clean and not stain resistant.
I love how these look! These placemats are not easy to clean (kind of a braided material) so stuff gets in there and doesn't come out. On that same note liquids will go straight through and then the whole thing sticks to the table. They are not stain resistant - chocolate and ketchup or marinara will leave marks. I would not recommend if you have children or any other messy eaters.

Not for every day use
Placemats are durable and adds a nice touch to the dining table, but I wouldn’t recommend for every day use. I clean it off immediately after using but some stains just won’t come out and bleeds between the material. Maybe use for decor only and not for eating on.

I used this on my glass kitchen table. Really brighten up the kitchen. My table looks nice..all my friends love them and now they all ordered some. I tried to match my mats with my chairs pad.It is easy to clean. Would I recommend this? YES I WOULD.

Better than expected
Delightfully surprised at the quality and appearance, dry easy to clean, use them on outdoor picnic table and easy to remove stains.

They work like a charm. We cuts ours so it would fit better on our small table. Design is nice also.
