Collector’s Edition
I picked this up off a few gameplay reviews online and decided it looked fun enough, dismissing the negativity and all that.It being compared to the classic Resident Evil games, I thought that alone was worth a try. It has its bugs, and it’s faults. But I can’t think of anything that an entire community is 100% in agreement on in the first place.I haven’t gotten too far into this game, but if you’re a fan of this genre you might get a little enjoyment from this game. I don’t regret my purchase, and I’m hopeful for more titles of this series or some more merchandise.

Nostalgic but new, its a noice game strangah!!!
This game is awesome a bit difficult when attempting to avoid enemys but if you love the games of the 90's and want that nostalgia feeling while playing a new game with graphics of today this is for sure the game to get... I bought the european black edition and it runs just fine on my US made PS4... look for the references to the 90's makes the game.

Slow start but gets better
I actually bought the game digital on PSN but I thought I'd share my personal experience with this product. It starts out slow, and painfully linear. There some good atmospheric and genuinely intense moments that set the mood. Its not till you take control of the true protagonist that the game shapes itself into a pretty decent survival experience. I won't spoil anything but theres a section taking place in a hospital where the game opens up into an explorable less linear experience that was actually pretty good. I would have rated it higher if the whole game had been more like this section. It doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before, and yes most of what it does has been done better. For a modern survival horror offering it isn't a bad pickup though. The graphics in cutscenes are a little wonky, but I haven't experienced anything gamebreaking or crashes. I have read other people experienced issues though. My biggest complaint is its a little misleading. There isn't actually three perspectives, you'll play as different characters early but theres really only one true protagonist. You play as different characters at certain junctions in the story, but theres only one campaign. You wont see different perspectives to events, still I liked it once I reached hospital and would feel confident in recommending it.

Disappointed
I found it incredibly difficult to play this game, although I wanted to love it.The graphics are jittery from cutscene to gameplay, the controls are incredibly clunky and everything is such a chore. The characters lack depth and the acting is really bad. In a way it does take you back to old games but in the worst ways. At least for me. I couldn't complete it for the above reasons - lighting, music and atmosphere is pretty good but the game definitely feels rough round the edges.I couldn't recommend this title.

It's rough around the edges. But it has it's charms.
This game has the atmosphere that has been missing from Resident Evil series for the last two decades. After Nemesis on PS1. The series started losing it's appeal. The atmosphere was gone. You used to feel like you were in a zombie movie but in video game form in the first three RE games. Daymare was made by a small crew of developers who love the old Resident Evil games. It's like a love letter to the old games. It's a tribute to the series. It's not trying to be the series or better than the series. This is what some stubborn narrow minded RE fans fail to realise. The controls are warped upon first contact with them. I think I have the X and Y sensitivity at 86% and the Aiming speed at 20%. I'll come back and mark this review as EDITED if those figures are wrong and I'll correct them. Somehow that setting allows me to play the game with minimum fuss. I still miss from time to time when shooting. But that's down to the aiming system. Best to try and control shooting. Don't panic as you will waste ammo. Always try and take them out from a distance (medium or long). The R2 button is a bash button. But you have to time it and it uses stamina from the bar each hit. Two hits and you best let it recharge. One hit is enough to allow you to get away from a zombie if you can (or to fire). You will get annoyed with specific moments in the game. Like how quick some zombies grab you and from hiding spots as well. Then you're blood pressure goes up and you're roaring at the TV for the zombie to F.O as your tapping the X to get the character to shove it away. I think this is something you'll learn to tolerate as you progress. Zombies don't take much to go down in easy mode. It is best played in easy mode first time round. Trust me on this one. Otherwise you'll want to give up. Use easy mode first time round to learn the ropes as they say.The inventory system comes across as overcomplicated upon using it. Makes little sense how they went that road. Simplified setup works for everyone. I am at the hospital in town just now. Making my way through the building after finding a secret room in one of the hospital wards. Some guy via a security camera lead me to the room. In there it gives you access to the item box like they have in RE. These can be used all across the game from that point onward when you come across them. The point I am at in the game the inventory setup is no longer a pain. I am used to it. I slow reload all weapons all of the time. For now anyway. When I get an empty room or corridor I always check my inventory and reload any empty clips. Because if you have an empty clip in the inventory and try to reload when you need it. It won't let you. It tells you it can't reload empty clips. Makes sense haha So always check the inventory when you get any breathing space. You'll thank yourself for it later. The item box seems to work as a trade system. Gun ammo, hacking cables, etc. But it tells you want it wants on screen in return for the trade. So medical items combined and other things can be swapped. Not sure what to make of this idea yet. I've just discovered the item box so it hasn't had a chance to work it's self into my game on any real level yet. Oh and you can manually save your game at these item boxes. So you don't need to rely on the annoying auto save at checkpoints. Which causes backtracking a lot of the time. Unless you're lucky enough to get a checkpoint close to where you got killed or messed up.The hacking cables used to get passed specific doors. It's time based. Two bars on either side. On each bar is two markers. They pass each other going up and down. You hit L1 to make them stop on top of each other. Then R1 on the right hand side one. You get a couple of chances to make a mistake. Then you lose the hacking cable. So you'll need more to get in passed the door you happen to be at. If you're close to a checkpoint or save. Just reload. Save wasting hacking cables. Each hack has a different difficulty level. I've hacked an easy and a hard door. Only come across the two so far. Got them both first time. Don't panic when attempting it. Controlled breathing and timing is the key.Once I finish the game and if I feel any different I'll come back and EDIT mark the review and alter or add anything. But if the game continues to play out as it has just now. I don't think I'll need to. Also the late Paul Haddad who voiced Leon in RE2 makes an appearance with voice work. If you listen closely you'll recognise him. I had a choice between buying this or buying Naughty Dog's latest woke fest. This game won my money. I don't regret the choice I made either. I don't do woke.Hail to Invader Studios in Italy from here in Scotland. I am a big fan of Italian horror movies from the late 70's and all through the 80's. They are untouchable. Lucio Fulci. Lamberto Bava. Umberto Lenzi. Ruggero Deodato. All masters of Italian horror and gore.

Fantastico...

Unreadable
Was so looking forward to playing this but none of the in-game files appear to be readable or viewable on my copy when obtained or accessed through the inventory. Damn shame

Not good
I've been waiting for this for year, finally got it on ps4 any very disappointed. As a re fan, I'd read and been waiting for this for years. Big fan of horror/survival horror.More like a bad ps2 game, bad graphics, controls not precise at all, so very hard to do head shots at a distance.Completed one chapter and couldn't bring myself to play any more.Very very poor
