I can Breathe masks used to use a seperate filter. Are those no longer used? Are they now built into the honeycomb mask?

how easy is it to breathe in this mask while asleep?

Breathing through this at work is easy, however, there is a chemical in the mask that I'm allergic to. My face became extremely swollen after my 12-1/2 hr shift. For a normal person without autoimmune disorder would probably do fine.
