Canned Sardine Perfection
These are a well packed, very clean sardine product. They have a light taste and almost no scales or internals. They are expensive and the taste is no better than my favorite value sardine, the Season brand in olive oil, sometimes found at half the price of the Parodi brand. Also, Parodi sardines come in a case of ten verses other brands (like Season) which come in a case of twelve. That said, and if you don't have a problem with their expensive cost, they are a great canned sardine and deserving of their excellent reputation. I will be keeping a few cans on hand for gifts and special snacks.Jan 4, 2020 Update: Ordered another case and upped my rating to 5 stars due to the price break!

At a level above the best.
My friends and I get together every few weeks and have sardines from all over. Traditionally, I have considered the smaller the better in the sardine world and have bought accordingly. Then, I ran across these Angelo Parodi - Portuguese Sardines and decided to try them, sight unseen. Well, at our latest luncheon gathering I decided to try these, opened the can, and much to my disappointment there they were, three giant sardines. Oh, no. But, I had to man up amongst my friends, so I dipped out one fish and delicately ate a small piece. Couldn’t believe it. This giant fish actually was good, and the more I ate, the better it got. After finishing of the whole can, I can say without reservation this is the best tasting sardine brand I have ever eaten, and I’ve had them from all over the world. Highly recommended.

very top of the top
what is there to say? ...seriously! how good could these be? I eat K. O. tiny sardines out of the north sea. they are delicious. clean, pure, perfect!then I decide to try these. everybody raves about them....give it a go. This is not fair. you are not supposed to compare apples to oranges and that is exactly what is going on here. example...had the open tin next to me at the desk...1/2 hr later i had forgotten about it having eaten the contents for lunch. how can you forget about an empty tin of sardines 2 feet away? By far the best tasting canned fish in the world...well...makes shopping for me at xmas easy...Parodi and more Parodi

Wonderful Price Point for a Wonderful Sardine
I love sardines and I have my favorites, but I have recently decided to expand my search for tasty sardines. Angelo Parodi is simply delicious and comes in at a nice price point. The Olive Oil is above average and the fish is cooked to perfection. A+ sardine from a A+ seller.

First can was good, second, not so much.
First of all: I love sardines and I grew up eating them often. I’m also fairly picky. I usually purchase Wild Planet sardines in EVOO but they weren’t available so I was perusing reviews to find an alternative. This brand looked popular so I got a twelve pack. The first can was great, but a month or so later, I had a craving for sardines again and cracked open another can. Boy, what a letdown. The pieces were nice and firm, but they were covered with scales the size of dimes. I just couldn’t. Had to be sent down the garbage disposal. It’s going to be a while before I open another again, if ever. Disappointing.

Great rich flavor
These are great tasting sardines in very tasty olive oil. My go to sardines. The only thing to point out is that the scales can quite a bit to deal with and get caught in the back of the throat. I've gotten to the point where I have to remove all the scales ( there are a lot of scales) before I eat the sardines) I don't remember my first orders of these sardines having so many scales. I never remember having to scale them or even seeing scales, but now they are full of them.

Nope..
These are the best I've tried so far, and I've tried quiet a few. The olive oil in the Angelo Parodi Moroccan ones was great, but the olive oil in these Portuguese ones is terrible! Had to wash if off in a strainer - but without a good olive oil sardines don't taste so good, and, like all sardines, these go bad really quick. After this I'm not doing sardines anymore - idc where they come from. Not since I discovered Bumble Bee Alaska Sockeye Red Salmon, 14.75 oz in a can. Just as nutritious and tastes a hella lot fresher than *any* sardines out of a can.
