Earth 2 Girls Are Unbelievable
And now we have have Huntress, who apparently is Batman and Catwoman's daughter. Glad to know those two finally got together. I honestly didn't know that about her. I've only ever seen Huntress from Justice League Unlimited, and as far as I can remember, her backstory is never explained like that. You'd think Batman would have had a few conversations with his daughter. Oh, wait. Huntress is originally from Earth 2? That explains it. Parallel universe were things seem to be a bit happier than the current universe. Also explains Huntress'...um, build. My guess is that there's something in the water over on that Earth. So yes, the most recent Kotobukiya DC Bishoujo statue is the lovely Huntress. As always (or almost always, in the case of X-23), Kotobukiya has done a perfect job in creating this figure. The details on her costume are stunning, and the different styles of paints and plastics they used really allows you to tell what parts of her outfit are clothes and which parts are supposed to be armor. She seems to have forgotten to finish her costume on her stomach though. You can see her belly button, which is a nice detail that I'm certain other statues would have overlooked. Her belt has a green gem where the belt buckle should be, something that a lot of people will probably miss since her stance tends to cover it. The packs on her utility belt have nice detail too, going so far as to add in the little buttons on each pouch. Same goes for the two pouches she wears around her legs. Seriously, I think this girl is packing more than Batman. And by 'packing' I totally mean just packing and nothing else ;-).The belts on her boots, which I must wonder how long it takes for her to slip in and out of, are nicely done and you can see where the buckles are on each one. Her cape is another masterpiece, and something I think Kotobukiya has truly perfected in making all of these statue. Like Supergirl and Power Girl, the cape here flows beautifully behind her with a nice flare. And unlike Power Girl, her hair is flowing in the same direction! Speaking of the hair, it is perfectly done. Once again, the clear-ish plastic is used toward the edges of it, giving the impression of the hair thinning out. She even has two strands hanging down around her neck. Her stance is meant to be her looking down on the streets of Gotham, but Huntress better hope no one is standing behind her. Because they will get a nice view, so to speak. You can't tell from looking at the statue from the picture or from the front (there are other things on the front that distract you), but turn her around and BAM! The first thing that's going to cross your mind is, "That girl needs some pants!" I actually compared her outfit's back to Wonder Woman's and Power Girl's. Huntress' doesn't go up as high, but she has more meat on her so it's a bit more striking. She's also leaning forward a bit, so things are perhaps stretching in the back. But enough about that. Switching back back to the front of the statue. Am I crazy, or was she originally holding a trident when this statue was first announced? I thought that weird, because it struck me as her raiding Aquaman's home. I guess Kotobukiya felt the same way, because the trident has been replaced with the classic "Batman's-young-sidekick" metal staff. Huntress does NOT come with it equipped. You must put it in her hands yourself. At first I could not figure out how to do this, because the ends of the pole are too big to slip through her hands. I immediately started having flashbacks of X-23, but then I read the directions. You know, something I should have done first. The pole actually comes apart. You slide one end up through one hand and the other end down through the other hand and one end goes into the other and...that sounded wrong. What I meant was, the staff comes apart, you place it in her hands, and then reattach it. Done.Okay, I have to get this off my chest--and I bet Huntress wishes she could too! Bah-zing! When I first saw this statue, the first thought that went through me head was, "Man, that RACK!" Seriously, I know Kotobukiya statues are supposed to be sexed up, but here I think they overdid it. They almost look like balloons, and it doesn't help that she is squishing them with her arms (or maybe she's trying to give herself some support because they're huge!) Since she is friends with Power Girl, one has to wonder how often they compete over who has the bigger guns. As I said, I think there's something funny in the water at Earth 2. While the huge breasts work on Power Girl because of her insanely toned and muscular body (go read my review of it if you want to know what I mean), on a figure like Huntress, who is slender on top with a pair of thighs that can "crush a man's skull like sparrow egg," the huge breasts take away from her look a bit and prove distracting--but not in a good way. I almost didn't buy this statue because of this. She comes already on her base, but make sure she is placed at eye level or higher. Her head is tilted down--because she's watching the streets from her gargoyle perch--and if you have to look down at her, the shadows are going to cover her beautiful face and her hazel (I think) eyes.Educational--read the directions to figure out how to get that staff into place. Don't do what I didn't and try to figure it out on your own, or you're going to keep trying to shove that pole through her hands and...why are you laughing? Shut up! Focus. You can't see the breaking point in the pole just by looking at it, so read the instruction on what to do.Bottom line--Huntress is, in my opinion, the second-most-detailed Kotobukiya Bishoujo statue--out of the DC characters anyway. The amount of belts, buckles, and armor, combined with her hair and cape, add an amazing level of detail to her. Only Poison Ivy has more going on, what with those vines and all. If you're collecting these statues, this one is certainly worth picking up. I'm going to put her on the shelf next to Power Girl now so they can argue.

Huntress anime style
The media could not be loaded. Huntress' complicated history was recently re-organized in the New 52. Also known as Helena Wayne daughter of Bruce Wayne and Catwoman from the Earth 2 story line. I admit that I don't know too much about her comic book adventures and this info was taken from the box she comes in. I am thinking of purchasing this new comic book series though. I do know there was a TV series called 'Birds of Prey' that featured this character. I also know that she can kick some serious tail as she is the offspring of Batman and Catwoman. Based on the art of Shunya Yamashita (one of my personal favorite Japanese artist) and sculpted by Masahiro Takashi. She stands around 9 inches tall (a little less) and this includes the base she stands on. The base is almost 6 inches wide. Bishoujo stands for 'pretty girl' and I have to say that she is surely that. She has a very pretty face. I really love her mask. I love pretty much everything about this figure. I could find no defect in craftsmanship on her what so ever. The only negative thing I can say is that it was hard to push the staff through her hand closest to her. She has a very tight grip. You have to pull the staff apart and push one end of it through this hand and then reconnect it. But this was the only thing you have to do when you take her out of the box. She comes attached to the base. She was wrapped in little plastic tape like pieces (to protect her paint I would guess) that you have to remove as well. Her paint is superb. I love the metalic purple of her armor. Her armor helps her look like a sexy cross of batgirl and catwoman. The pouches on her belt are well done and remind us of her link to her father Batman. The blue jewel in her belt is nice touch too. This belt of hers sits upon quite frankly a very nice rear end. This is what drew me to purchase her I must say. I admire the finely sculpted female form. Kotobukiya makes some of the best. This captures her perched on a rooftop with her foot on top of a griffin statue. The griffin is nicely detailed and is a flat grey in contrast to the gloss of her armor. Her hair and cape (another reminder of her father) are captured frozen in the wind. Her hair is finely done. It starts with black at the base turns a dark grey then light grey and all the way to clear at the tips. You could use a spot light to highlight this when displaying her. Overall I am very happy and pleased with my purchase and recommend it.

Power Girl now has her BFF on our shelf.
Originally I did not have much interest in this figure. For Christmas, my wife bought me the Power Girl statue and a couple of the Power Girl graphic novels. After reading the novels and learning more about Huntress, my feelings changed toward the statue. Most of the statues we own belong to my wife, but since I had PG I decided to order this one too, and I wasn't disappointed. There is a lot of detail to the figure, the skin looks great - like porcelain almost - and her hair and cape both have a cool translucent thing going on. I've seen some stuff online about people saying they thought her butt looks rather... large. I would agree that I thought it did as well from the pictures online. But, as is usually the case with a 3d object being viewed on a 2d screen, it changes when you look at it in person. Now you can see all the shading from the light in the room and the actual shape of the object. Her butt looks like, well... a nicely shaped butt. It doesn't appear overly large in person.Overall we really like this statue and consider it one of the best in our collection. The only gripe I have is that there were a couple very small spots where it looks like some of the black paint from her costume splattered onto her skin. I was able to reduce the appearance of the spots by gently rubbing on them with a wet q-tip. This fixed it 80-90%, you can still see the spots if you look really close, but from 2 feet away they are invisible. Not enough to ding it though. She is also slightly on the larger side of the Koto Bishoujos. I put this right next to PG and she appears to be slightly taller. If you collect Koto Bishoujo then I'm sure you know that the size can vary on these statues even if they are the same scale (either 1/8 for early ones or 1/7 for newer ones).Reccomended.
