I will be installing a heavy hard wood barn door for my walk in closet in my cabin in a few weeks. I am now working on building the barn door using rough cut lumber from a local lumber mill.I've looked for the hardware at name brand stores and wasn't really impressed with the options available. This Austin & Mills AM-CH100, Black 6.6FT Rhombus-Shaped Barn Door Hardware Kit is exactly what I was looking for - a rugged and stylish look that matches my cabin motif perfectly and it is very heavy duty - suitable to hang my heavy door.It is constructed of very slightly textured flat black powder coated steel, including the standoffs and other supporting hardware. The only two plastic parts are non-load bearing and not subject to wear. Price wise, it is significantly less expensive than what I've looked at in the local hardware stores and much nicer in quality and design. I look forward to finishing the barn door project.

We are remodeling our house and I wanted nothing more than to have a barn door sliding kit. This one definitely has a distinctive look to it with the metal rhombus design. The components all look very sturdy and as pictured. However, I received my box and it was partially opened, and the interior boxes looked as if this was a returned item, because the internal components were scattered within the box. It does come with instructions and the instructions seem like they are easy to follow. The hardest thing about this is that the barn door needs a groove at the bottom for the floor component...essentially it keeps the door from swinging forward or backward. So if the door doesn't already have a groove, then you have to put in one yourself, else have to buy another type of guide. Other than that, I'm really pleased with the barn door hardware and can't wait to put it up in my house.
