Very good knife
This is a great knife. I tried it on some parsnips and carrots. It works just as well or better than my Wustof. To be fair to the Wustof, it’s only had home sharpening with my whetstone and diamond sharpening steel for many years and probably desperately needs a professional sharpening. I think the Babish chef/cleaver knife outperformed it by just a smidgen, but it was close. Altogether, for a knife that costs about a fifth of the price of a Wustof, I was overjoyed. I will be purchasing a couple more of the Rada knives, such as a peeling/utility type knife as well. Most of my good knives got lost in a move, and since they were all expensive Wustof, Zwilling, and Henckels knives, I’m having to try to replace them with more cost effective options. I’m quite pleased with these so far. As they are thinner blades, I’m not sure how they’ll hold up over time, but on the comments for a YouTube video for a homesteader there were people commenting that they’d been using their RADA knives and were still pleased with them after 30 years, which is why I purchase this one.

Good Enough for Every Day Cooking
I am a professional cook and I own two of these knives, along with some other Rada knives. I was given my first as a gift and bought another. I use one of them daily at work and I am not disappointed. There are two things that really matter when choosing a chef's knife: if it can hold an edge and if you like it. That's it. All knives can be sharpened, and all knives will dull - it's just a matter of how long they will stay sharp. I sharpen mine every two weeks, but it could really go another before it truly needs it. And if you're going to be looking at it every day and be the one using it, it should feel good in your hand and it might as well be pretty, eh? I love the aluminum handles on these. This knife does have a pretty thin blade and some rough edges, so if you're not developing calluses from using it every day or don't hold it right, it'll be a little uncomfortable. But it is really light and not having a bolster/finger guard makes it really easy to sharpen on any run-of-the-mill electric or wheel sharpener. The tip of the knife isn't the pointiest and can be tricky to get super sharp, though.Having two of these knives I can say there are some inconsistencies in their manufacturing; one is perfectly balanced and one has a little heavier blade. I attribute the difference to different steel in the blade, but the difference is pretty negligible. I've gotten a little but of discoloration on the lighter one, but still nothing worth worrying about. The reason for the 5-star rating though: the price. For 12 or 13 bucks I'd throw it at a dart board! Not really, but you don't have to worry too much about dropping it on the tip or putting a ding in it. If you like it and it's this quality for this price, then why bother with top of the line knives? I've used Mercer, Global, and Shun knives, and because I don't have thousands of dollars to throw around, I'll take the sleek and cheap Rada, thanks.Oh yeah, and if you put any knife in the dishwasher you can expect to ruin it.

A terrific knife. Lightweight, very sharp blade!
My husband's favorite knife. He uses it every day to chop salads for dinner. He's very happy. I'm very happy.

Great Knife
I got the starter gift set for Christmas. It came with a cook’s knife but not a Chef’s knife. I liked the starter set so much I wanted to invest in the Chef’s knife. These are great knives. My husband gets irritated because you have to hand wash them but we love the functionality! They are made in the USA. Side note— if you put them in the dishwasher the handle will discolor because it is made of aluminum. The knife will still function the handle will just discolor.

Great chef's knife for an amazing price!
Despite having much more expensive chef's knives (Wusthof, boutique Japanese gyuto), I often reach for the Rada because it really feels balanced in my hands and retains an edge much better than the others. I like the thin blade as it offers much better control over thicker blades like the Wusthof. Of course, I'm not getting rid of my Wusthof or gyuto, as they serve their own purposes, but I reach first for the Rada for most tasks. While it holds an edge much better than the others, it does need edge maintenance like any blade, and like all, I steel it with a diamond sharpening steel before each cooking session. Occasionally, it needs to be sharpened, but I can do this on my ceramic sharpening rods whereas the others require a more time-consuming whetstone sharpening. I've owned this knife for 6 years and it still looks and functions like the day I received it. I wish I needed more knives to support this great cutlery company, but given the quality, I really don't need any more knives! Overall, this is an excellent utility knife that is often my go to for most kitchen tasks.

American made quality, Very sharp, but Aluminum handle feels weird in your hand
I wish i could have rated this 3.5 but since it is a great knife at the price, i bumped it up to a 4. I am not a professional chef, but a tipping point for me was all the great reviews by chefs in the restaurant business. What I like:Price: This was one of the cheapest knives I have ever boughtSharpness: This is an incredibly sharp knife made of stainless steelWeight: Lightweight, but well weighted at the right places. Feels like a $40-$50 knife to me.American made: You don't see many things made in the USA much anymore, especially this quality and even more crazy, at this price. What I do not like:Not dishwasher safe, boo!The Aluminum handle just feels weird in my hand. It is hard to explain, but its weird in a kind of gritty, fingernail on chalkboard kind of way. They do make a version with a rubber type handle so I may try that one too.Overall, I love the knife and will definitely be buying a complete set, but will buy one with the other handle type and see if I like that one better.
