Seeing the Bible Differently: How 'A Course in Miracles' Views the Bible

For a number of years, I knew there was something about ACIM that was drawing me in but I just could not get into it. I several books, listened to podcasts, read articles but when it came to actually reading the text I was lost and confused. Reason being I was looking at it from a traditionally Christian/Biblical perspective and it just did not make any sense. It wasn't until I started studying and incorporating some Buddhist awareness into my practice and through this, the appreciation of nonduality and the True meaning of the body is not much more than an amalgam of matter and energy that ACIM started making sense. Now, as an ACIM student, I'm able to circle back around to the Bible and appreciate what it has to say.

I send copies of this book to inmates, who invariably read it until the pages are ragged. So many of us get so confused and even misled trying to read the Bible because we don't understand the deeper metaphysical meanings or the humor and language quirks of the Aramaic language, which was Jesus' native language. What makes it even more difficult is that the translations to Greek and Hebrew were often off the mark, making English translations even more puzzling and frustrating. Anyone who's ever truly wanted to understand the Bible will find this book a treasure.

It truly does clear up some scriptures that I had problems with.

This scholarly work demonstrates a solid continuity of the teachings of the Bible with those of A Course in Miracles, while also showing the distinct differences between these two sacred works.

I got a lot of interesting information from reading this book. I would recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the Course.
