The Best $500 I have ever spent!!
I have been holding back on reviewing this laser as I wanted to be sure I used it long enough that I could give a real assessment. I am a very fair skinned woman in my late 40's. I didn't go in the sun much as a teenager and don't have the damage a lot of my peers have so I have been hearing for years "You have great skin" but I am at the point now where people started adding the modifier "for your age" and that scared me to death. I have had Thermage (about five years ago) and have been having Pelleve treatments around my eyes - both of which are great and I loved but are very high cost ($2k for Thermage of the jaw and $600 a pop for Pelleve eye). Four months ago, I got the Tria because I figured any collagen I could build in my face at home on my own would be a great preventive measure but I didn't have very high expectations for the device because I didn't think I had much to "repair." I can't believe how wrong I was and how this device has changed my skin for the better.Like a lot of other reviewers I started using it at level 1 & 2 but quickly moved up to the 10 minute sessions of level 3. I did it every night while I watched the news and followed up with the Skinceuticals Resveratrol B&E serum and a moisturizer (Amore Pacific or Skinceuticals). It did turn my skin red and it feels like a sunburn after using - I always found the redness went away overnight and the few times I have used it during the day the redness was gone within two hours. About three weeks in I woke up one morning and couldn't believe the way my skin looked - the enlarged pores on my cheeks were much smaller and the area around the eyes was smoother than it has been since my 20's - and the changes have just kept coming. Even my expensive NYC dermatologist asked me what I was doing to my skin! All over, my skin seems more luminous than it has in years and I don't have to wear foundation any more; my skin has become super smooth and tightened. I wouldn't ever give this machine up - they will just have to bury me with it I think!!I did have a problem with the charger in the beginning - the blue low charge light would go on while I was using the machine but I never had an issue with the machine stopping. I called TRIA and they sent me a new charger immediately. I see a lot of complaints about that here but I didn't think it was a big deal just more of a PR nightmare for the company. Definitely give it a shot - it is probably the best thing you can do for your skin every night and if you look at it that way the cost is minimal.********************************************************************************************UPDATE on January 31, 2015: Just wanted to say my experience with the TRIA continues to be wonderful. No battery problems, have been continuing to use it at level 3 and my skin feels and looks incredibly improved. I have gotten three of my friends to get one and they love it as well - and this week I was on vacation with another friend and when I complemented her skin she confided that was was using the Tria too! My one tip for users is be sure to clean off the glass screen fairly regularly as little skin flakes accumulate on the surface. Still an A+ product!

Defective Tria Device
Like some Amazon customers that purchased this product mine is defective also. I purchased mine during February 2014, and it has never worked properly and does not charge. Also, the last charger they sent me, I plugged it in October 21, 2014 and it started smoking. After three chargers, Tria has agreed to send another charger; however. I want a refund. I can't give a review on how effective the product is on the skin (the purpose it is intended) because I am always waiting for another new charger to be sent to replace a charger that does not work. This product cost entirely too much ($500.00) to be defective and not to work properly. One Tria representative that I spoke to explained if the 1 year warranty expires and my device stops working entirely, I have the option to purchase a rebuilt (refurbish) device at a cost of $200.00. In spite of the numerous consumer complaints, Tria continues to sale this faulty product, make excuses about its defectiveness and hope the one year warranty expires well before they have to address problems with the product by issuing a refund. Furthermore, I am not accustomed to spending this much money ($500.00) for a defective electronic product and my money not be refunded or product replaced after so many complaints. What a waste of money. I could have spent my hard earned money elsewhere (like purchase a piece of furniture, television, laptop, etc.). My point is, as dissatisfied consumers we need to complain loudly about this one. Most of the products that I have purchased on Amazon, I have been pleased with, with the exception of this one. There are entirely to many complaints about the Tria Laser being defective to be ignored. In fact, while complaining to Tria customer service (5 different occasion) it appears the customer service representatives are well aware of the ongoing problems. With these kind of product problems, it won't be long before lawsuits start to be filed because consumers we have rights. If I can't get Amazon customer service to honor this defective product by issuing a Amazon store credit or credit my account, I am going to file a consumer complaint and possibly a Class action against Tria.

I have been disappointed in the way it works
I watched numerous videos and read reviews before I invested in this laser. I have been disappointed in the way it works. I had difficulty from the beginning because the instructions for turning it on, which were printed in the booklet, did not work. I emailed the company, and they sent me the correct instructions. The laser might be effective if it worked consistently, but it does not. It simply stops working repeatedly for no reason. The only place it works well is on my cheecks, but it is actually supposed to be most effective on crows feet around the eyes. Using it on my forehead or chin is very frustrating, because it simplly will not keep working regardless of how I move or hold it. I have tried everything. Maybe mine has been defective from the beginning. I considered returning it for exchange almost immediately, and now I wish I had. I would not buy this product again. After looking at all the videos, I really believed it would work as they say. In none of the videos does the device constantly stop. It appears to be easy to use. Mine is not.A sales associate at Sephora told me that the Tria representative told her that there was a glitch in the manufacture of the first Tria devices that were distributed for sale and they would not charge properly. She went on to say that the defect had been corrected, and that those currently on the market would work well. She also said that there was no warranty unless the device was purchased from Sephora or the Tria company. I found that strange. Typically, if you purchase a product that is warrantied, it is warrantied wherever you buy it. Tria either stands behind the product or it does not. I purchased from Amazon because they stand behind everything they sell. Their customer service is consistently 5-star. Exchanges are easy etc.
