Works Great with my Spectrum cable box
Just received the IR extender. Plugged it into my Spectrum cable box, placed sensor in a convenient location and moved cable box out of sight behind TV. Extender works great - price was great - I cannot detect any deterioration in cable box performance. Sensor is very non-intrusive - barely visible. Listing of compatible devices was a big help when ordering assuring the correct product.

A Little Bit Finicky
For the most part it does what it should do, but sometimes it does not immediately respond to signals from the Verizon remote. I may have to press a button more than once sometimes to get the TV to respond. Also, I noticed that after plugging the IR cable into the back of my Verizon set top DVR box, it will not respond if the remote is pointed directly at the box; I have to always point the remove at the IR receiver which is stuck to the top of the TV set. Not a big problem, but my old IR cable responded if the remote was pointed at the IR cable receiver or at the set top box--a minor inconvenience. Because of this I only gave it 4 stars.

Does exactly what I needed it to do
I needed to hide my older Spectrum cable box in a cabinet, and this extender allowed me to do that and still be able to use the remote. Works as advertised.

Easy install
Easy install and works great. We wanted to hide our box and wires. Only thing you need to remember is when there's a power outage, you have to now unplug/replug both the cable box wire and the infrared receiver wire in order to reset the box.

Connected to Micca Spec to be used inside a chassis near camera window
Needed a infrared receiver for a Micca Spec digital audio/video player that would be installed in a hard steel case. The IR receiver was placed near the camera window and it had double sided tape to affix in that window. Connected the receiver to the IR port of the Micca Spec player. Now it's possible to control the Micca Spec player while it's protected inside a steel case.
