DAMON LINDELOF RULES AGAIN WITH A MYSTERY SERIES THAT GOES DEEPER AND DEEPER INTO ITSELF
I kept hearing so many things about THE LEFTOVERS that it was time to see this series. I can say I was not disappointed and became a fan immediately. The first impression is what an absolutely fantastic cast. Justin Theroux is am amazing actor who can show the pain of his character through his facial expressions and tone of voice. Amy Brenneman also steals the show with a character who has taken a vow of silence. Brenneman's character's inner soul and angst is shown through her facial expressions. Needless to say, this takes some incredible acting talent.THE LEFTOVERS was created by Damon Lindelof and the author of the book Tom Perrotta. Fans of LOST will see also see Lindelof's style in THE LEFTOVERS. Lindelof likes to create a mystery and not answer questions. The story is how people react to the mystery. It's October 14 and 2% of the world's population vanishes-often in plain sight. International celebrities and political figures and every day people going about their daily routine vanish with no explanation. The story could slow down in episode one to see more of the chaos of the disappearance (cars suddenly are driverless. What about airplane pilots?) Three years later the world is trying to cope with the losses. Loved ones mysteriously vanished. A mysterious cult called the Guilty Remnant do not speak and chain smoke and lurk among the city. It's all creep stuff as Lindelof tells his story. As with LOST, the viewer wants answers that are slow in coming. One mystery only opens a door to another. It's amazingly addictive series with an absolutely perfect cast. Justin Theroux shines as the confused and bitter police chief who has to make sense of the crazy world around him. Here is a series that should not be missed.

The Leftovers - Complete Series
Great show, talented cast, sucks you in. Justin Theroux isn’t bad, either. Watched its original run, and bought it to binge watch, so glad I did. Highly recommended.

It is a mysterious show
Bought this for my fiance. He loves it and got so hooked. So I obviously had to buy all 3 seasons for him.

An Interesting Twist in this Genre
This is a post apocalyptic show with a twist. Instead of 98% of the world disappearing, 98% stayed. This is the story of how those who stayed dealt with the loss of 2% of the world--including, at times, their loved ones. The plot is interesting and the characters generally believable.

A Man Said to the Universe
Season 1 is better than Season 2 because it's more straight forward. Still if you like off beat science fiction type moves, this isn't bad. It has lots of flashbacks and the organization of events isn't linear, so this may be perplexing to younger viewers. It would be hard to imagine a Season 3 since the first two are pretty complete, though there are certainly unanswered questions, and incomplete story lines. Still, that's really what this movie is about: the big mystery of existence.

Eerie and Strange
It has a feeling of Lost -- eerie and strange -- things happen in one episode that aren't explained until the next one and the dream sequences come unexpectedly but with quick resolution. My third favorite series so far, after Lost and maybe even equal to Walking Dead.

Where is the Story going ?
Where is the Story going ?Just about finishing Series one, just short of the last episode, I'm hooked.Took me about the first 3 episodes to get there. It's unpredictable.I don't want to give any spoilers. Volatile and strong characters will get entrapped. It's the viewer who decides who's who. Beware, the predictions you might host might be thrashed. One of the most character building shows I've seen so far. The motivations of the surviving crowd are the only halfway predictable entityin this series. The motivation of the "cult" and their actions remain a mystery. The series dos not try to stir you into any moral agendas.

I really enjoyed season 1. I am now on season 2 and am still being surprised each episode. I am only half way through this season and have no idea at all where it is going! I love it!

Superb Acting
This was a tough show for me to accept after a few episodes. I stuck with it and started to appreciate the superb cast. The writing is uneven and there are some holes in the script that could have been addressed. What it does offer is plenty of intrigue to maintain interest. Not true of a lot of shows today.
