Oracle 12c: SQL

It would be hard to over state how absolutely wretched the binding on this book is. I have used so much tape and glue trying to keep this book held together and it is still a bunch of lose sheets stuck between two covers. It's a crime that this book is selling for $70. The only reason this book sells any copies at all is universities requiring you to buy it for a class.If you have to buy it, take it to Kinko's and have the binding cut and put in a ring binder.

I read use this book about twice a week, reading a chapter then completing assignments. I got to chapter 9 and an entire section of the book stopped binding and fell out. Since it is past the return window, I cannot have it replaced. I moved on to chapter 10 and 11, more of the book has lost binding. I tried finding contact information for the publisher and they make it very difficult to find anything. This is awful quality for a book that costs so much.

I hated taking this crap as my last course in college, had to in order to get my degree and it was a nightmare but its all over now. If you can do it, right on, good luck to you. But this garbage still gives me nightmares, no thanks.

If you're wanting to learn about Oracle's SQL - this is the book to own. It can get very detailed and techie though and a newbie might have a hard time following it in places. Recommended.

Too many errors, omissions, and assumptions for the money. Not written by a computer science major. Leaves out too many fundamental theories at critical points. This book is not what you should use to prepare students for their future careers.

Taking a SQL class with this book. An accelerated class at that, so we are racing through the first four chapters in the first week. The chapters are fairly concise and not lengthy so finding the information needed for assignments is quite manageable. There are plenty of syntax examples, it is well organized, but not quite perfect.

These days people dont really use SQL. Also the book is so thick. I think it is better to just google, or watch youtube on SQL Lite which is more widely used than SQL

Good technically, but needs better editing to increase clarity and decrease ambiguities, Took me a long time to decode the precise meaning of the technical instructions in this book due to many ambiguous sentences. This proved very time consuming and frustrating. The instructional flow and organization, however, are quite good,and the topics are very relevant and useful.

Very good book, easy to read and with many examples and tests.It would deserve five stars, but, book contains no answers to Chapter Review questions!Author say that answers are on Cengage Brain website, but, they are impossibe to find.I am wery disappointed about that, it isn't fair.

I really enjoy this book, we are currently taking database course (CPAN 152 Relational DB Design and SQL) and all our materials are being covered from this book. I also like how we have case studies, 20 multiple course question to test your understand). This book is preparing me for (Database Administration) that I am taking next semester. This book self explanatory and easy to follow.
