Killer laptop !!! [really, don't drop it on your foot!!!]
This is my first gaming/desktop replacement so this is new to me. This is a large very well made laptop. Fit and finish are very nice; as a mater of fact this laptop is a lot better looking than it is in the photos on it's listing. This is the 128gb/1tb model, about 60gb of the sd is free but the tb drive is wide open; it took me a hour or so to realize that I had to set up the tb drive as main storage, this is not automatic you have to go into the settings and change the save to setting your self. Its not hard but a little annoying to have to do this ,but you must sort this out or you will run out of sd storage space quickly. This so far is the one and only problem I have had. It runs great, no over heating or loud fans. Unlike almost every laptop I have ever had it's not a finger print magnet. The deck of the keyboard area is covered in a soft black material that feels nice to your wrists and stays a comfortable temp. when gaming. Speaking of witch all of my games run on this laptop with med. to high frame rates, the screen is first rate very good color and it's mat finish so not hardly any glare. I gave it 4 stars to leave room for improvement, but it's very nice so far. I will re-post up dates as I use it and learn more about it. Oh, heads up if you buy a bag or case for this laptop be sure to get a 18 inch bag I ordered a amazonBasics 17 inch and its not even close to the right size.. Up Date : August 20, 2016 I received this laptop in November of 2015 and this is my first up date . I could not be happier with it's performance. Everything still works perfectly. I loaded Fallout 4 on it 1 week ago and high settings yields around 60-65 FPS, Witcher 3 on high runs about the same depending on whats happening at the time, the lowest ether has dropped is 45 FPS but it doe's not stay there long. No over heating at all. Fans are not noticeable at load. I have had only 3 problems with using this laptop, they are as follows" # 1 WINDOWS 10, # WINDOWS 10 , # 3 WINDOWS 10" , end quote. Windows 10 is pretty and shiny and free; [kind of.?.?.] But when it dropped I don't think it was polished enough. On 3 separate times I came very close to bricking this laptop. Some one with less patience would have re-installed the O.S. and started over. I caution you ; when dealing with Windows 10, if you are having trouble shutting down your computer from the start menu DO NOT PRESS THE OFF BUTTON FOR A HARD SHUT DOWN. If you are noticing that you can't launch a installed utility and the computer freezes up . DO NOT PRESS THE OFF BUTTON FOR A HARD SHUT DOWN. Let the computer finish what its doing at its on speed. Wait it out; no mater how long it takes. After about one to two hours if it still frozen, hard shut down, and cross your fingers. All of these problems happened the first month Windows 10 was put out for upgrade. These problems definitely up graded my O.S. knowledge I have never read so much about a O.S. All ways make a back up copy of your O.S. I hope this helps anyone who reads it. Again laptop great, O.S. great big pain. Sep.22 2016 2nd Update; on Aug.26 while reading a webpage my laptop went dark, I mean all indicator lights and the screen went dark. It had given no indication of problems at all leading up to this. I contacted Asus support and after having me go thru some trouble shooting they sent me a Fedex label and a repair number . I sent it in the next day and got it back about 9 days later, a fast turn around in my opinion. The box it arrived in was in great shape , no dents or crush areas on it anywhere. I opened the box and found it was very well packed, no way the laptop could move around at all. I unwrapped my laptop and immediately saw that something was wrong . The screen frame at the top edge is a plastic oblong cap that runs the width of the laptop screen,[ I think it lets the wifi have a better signal ], and it was out of position and distorted. Someone had pried it loose from the frame , and did not replace it properly after what ever work was done there. In removing this cover it looks like a metal screwdriver was jammed under it to remove it; I know this because there is a clear imprint of it in the plastic which is crumpled into a ugly ball. I carefully pressed the cap back into position after making sure that no wire or components would be caught in the crease as I closed it. I opened the laptop and saw it was dirty . The screen it self was very dusty and the keyboard had a lot of dust on it too. The dust on the keyboard was to a depth of about 2 milometers. I was upset to say the least. When I sent this laptop in there was no physical damage at all and it was very clean. I had to save up for this computer because it cost $1,600.00. I am very careful with my tech; I don't expose it to water, drops, falls, or dust, because I can't afford to buy a new one every year. The warranty was one of the big selling points I looked at when buying it. Now the warranty will soon be gone after 2-3 months. The laptop was repaired, its motherboard was replaced, it works as good as it always has; but it has a scar/ ugly spot thats right in my line of sight whenever I use it and I can't help worrying about all that dust; which anyone who works on electronics will tell you is all most a bad as water. I contacted Asus three times about this and they could not be more blase about it. They seem to be unconcerned about the condition my laptop was returned to me in. The repair seems good enough but the method was very rough. Asus seems to be very short sighted about this, this laptop is my property and I care about what happens to it; but obviously Asus does not. If your shopping for a computer I would think again when considering Asus. This laptop is the last tech I will buy from Asus. Not because of the products, but because of the service. As my grandfather use to say" I felt like I had been treated sh-ty." I hope this will help anyone thinking about buying an Asus computer.

am I a happy camper with this beast of a laptop
Let's face it, with today's technology, computers become absolete within 3 years time. However, am I a happy camper with this beast of a laptop? Absolutely eveen after 2 years of having it. I am a filmmaker and photographer, and yes, I do play video games as well and only on high or ultra settings. And I can tell you this - this beast does it all. The Nvidia 970M with 6 gigs of dedicated memory is a big boost for all of my applications that are graphic intense. Any less and it may not handle it but 6 gigs is great. The SSD, though I wished was 512 gigs still provides enough super fast speed to get windows started quickly but not enough when updates come around the corner and you begin to run out of gigs. The 1TB external hard drive is on a 7500 RPM spin so it is fast enough to get things going if need be but great for storage as it is where I store all of my video games and film/photography/3D applicaton projects. Although there are only 24 gigs of ram, it is plenty to do what you needed it to do. However, if you do CG, VFX, or 3D application, and you game at only high or ultra settings - I would highly recommend to pack it up to 64 gigs as it can be upgraded to that max. And with the 6th generation intel i7core, you will be just fine running super intense applications. Now, after a few years of having this laptop, I decided that I needed to max it out and so I did at 64 gigs and beast mode? Yep. Now, if you are looking to overclock the GPU, you can using MSI afterburner but you only have access to the core and memory and so don't expect a desktop overclocking or as the new laptop can with true desktop GPU installed within. Other than that, with a true HD screen and the ability to output to 4K because the 970M card can, your editing and gaming experience won't be disappointing. The screen has a 75 hertz Refresh rate and with most games, you will reach that 75 fps guaranteed. However, with game graphic intense games, you will reach about 30 to 40 fps. Overclocked, you will always reach 60 to 75 fps. I have 2 external 1080p monitor and a 4K monitor attach to my laptop and it runs great still. Now, I must also remind you that Nvidia cards are not always made for multiple screens as AMD cards do a much better job for that; however, this Asus Rog does the job well still. The cooling system is rock solid as well as I love the venting system being on the rear. Now, does it get hot? Does an car engine get hot when you drive it?Absolutely. And so, don't expect any laptops to be cooled like it is cooled by a system other than fans. This Asus Rog will get hot, especially if on your laps for hours. And so keep it on a desk if possible. However, the venting system is great and will do its job as it is quiet when not in high usage but once you are in high usage, the fans will kick in and cool the GPU and the CPU. Now, the bummer part of this laptop is that it doesn't come with a blu ray player. I would think now that blu ray should be the standard if a company choose for a laptop to have a DVD player. If you don't care then it is okay but if you do, you may want to get an external blu ray player or get a custome made one that fits in the laptop. And finally - look at how sexy the design is. Trust me, when I have my laptop around at a coffe shop and doing some editing, all heads turn over to the Rog. It is like driving a sport car that most want but can't afford. But here is the catch - this Rog is affordable. All right, I hope this helps anyone looking into one. If you are an intense gamer, this lapto won't be enough because you probably are looking for a 1080 Nvidia GPU single or sli with the 7th generation intell i7core, and a 1080p or 4K at 120 to 240 herts refresh rate. And you may also be wanting a laptop with super cooled fans. If that is what you are looking for then look into the the top of the line Asus Rog line. Or MSI or Acer. But if you are an artist and need power, elegance, and you play most games at high and ultra with a respectable refresh rate averaging 50-60 out of 75 fps and 75 fps when overclocked, then this laptop is for you. I still have it and maxed it to its full capabilities at 64 gigs of rams, an overclocked GPU, with 3 attached monitors two 1080p and one 4K, a gaming mouse and keyboar, and a blu ray player - and - it still rocks with eyes turning around to see what the fuss is all about. I love this laptop and recommend. If you have read this far, you should have a pretty good idea of what you want now. :)

Asus HORRIBLE support and warranty exchange. BUYER BEWARE
Your product warranty is HORRIBLE, buyers BEWARE if you get a defective product it will take you MONTHS to have it fixed or replaced.Bought a G752VT and got it and was really happy with it.But it came with a special problem the cooling fans WOULD not spin down.Sent it to repairs @ ASUS for the 1st time. 2 weeks lost.Got it back and was able to play a few days and again the problem persists.Sent it back to ASUS a 2nd time and talked to a supervisor and he reassured me that all would be ok this time. Another 2 weeks lost.Got it back and back to gaming a few more days, and the problem is still persisting.Sending it back for an exchange after 2 fail attempts to repair it.Supervisor authorized the exchange. So I sent it in, after 1 week of being at ASUS they decided to repair and not follow there own words.Called the supervisor and they said it was a mistake. WOW 1 lost week without a laptop.Another week after called the supervisor to see the status. They had none, they forgot about the exchange. Had to re-escalate. Supervisor promised me a call back.Waited 5 days NO CALL BACK?Had to call again, and talk to a Customer Service named Christopher who promised me he would call back within 24h and escalated the exchange of the laptop.Waited 24h and still nothing.Had to call again ASUS and talk again to Customer Service and they see the laptop has been updated but cant give an ETA.All this to say ASUS has great prodcuts, but if they fail.. HOPE you dont fall into the same boat as me. Since ASUS managers CANNOT keep there word and PROCESSES are often MISSED.Took me another 3 calls to a supervisor and a manager to FINALLY get my laptop 2.5 months and 4 repairs.Yes Asus have amazing products, but if you get a LEMON like me.. You will live a NIGHTMARE in getting it repaired or exchanged.

Amazing Gaming Laptop
So far the Asus ROG G752VT-DH72 is a Beast. It is a quality gaming device and beats the MSI equivalents. I am extremely happy with the purchase. The keyboard and track pad are comfortable, minimal bloatware, the sound is great, quiet fans, tactile keys, good keyboard backlight, it can play pretty much every game on the market right now on ultra settings without much FPS drop off. The only downsides of this laptop is the weight and the battery life; it is massive, but needs to be for the excellent cooling system it has. It feels like it weighs about 9-10 pounds and will require a decent tote or carry case. The battery life drains fast when gaming without the charger, it will last around 2 hours. However this is easily overlooked as the laptop isn't really something you want to be running around with. And with all of the other great aspects this ROG is probably the best gaming notebook you can get for the price point.

Beautiful Computer
The laptop is unexpected quiet and cool. The display is very clear. Except that I have to manually close the two opened ports, I have no complain.
