and loved juicing in general
I started juicing a few years ago with a centrifugal juicer, and loved juicing in general. Then I decided I was gonna stick with it and upgraded to a Dash masticating juicer, but it was a pain. Just the shape in general was bulky, the juice separated just as quick as the centrifugal juicer, with just as much pulp, and you lost a lot of product in the straining process. I wanted a new juicer, but wanted a horizontal one like this, but could not spend $300-$400 on one, and was afraid it wouldn't be worth it. I was lucky enough when the new juicer bug was biting me a few weeks ago that I found this for less than $200 on Amazon. I knew it was a deal after researching this brand and jumped on it. I am so glad I did. It is worth $400. It is such a huge difference over other juicers. I have a lot less pulp, a lot more juice, the juice barely needs to be strained, but it comes with a strainer. The juice isn't frothy, or pulpy, and doesn't separate quickly. I used to have to make myself finish my juice b/c it was so thick, but not anymore. This juicer truly makes juicing a pleasure again. Yes, there are a lot of pieces, but it is SO EASY to clean. And the footprint is smaller than my last Dash juicer. If you're worried about spending the $300, don't. Because this will pay for itself in improved health, and enjoyment of juicing. I even bought a second juicer for my sister while they were on sale.If you're new to juicing and it seems daunting, a simple trick I've found that works, is juice colors of similar colors i.e. greens, green peppers, pears, etc. Use a little more fruit at first till your taste buds get used to juicing, and slowly reduce the amount of fruit and increase the amount of vegetables. Mixing green juice and carrot juice may be healthy, but a brown or black juice just isn't appetizing to drink if you mix too many colors at once.

Excellent Juicer
As a first time juicer, I scoured the internet to find the perfect cold press juicer in my budget. I heard Tribest makes some of the best juicers on the market but $500 was out of my range so, i was thrilled to find a smaller, less expensive one under the same brand.I don't write reviews often. This juicer kicks ass. It's quiet, easy to assemble and clean, it's like bringing home a sweet little robotic dog to the family. It produces AMAZING tasting juices. Yes, you have to cut up the fruits and veggies to fit into the small feeding chamber but that doesn't bother me one bit. While I'm processing my produce, I'm feeding the juicer in the meantime. Celery, carrots, cucumbers, apples, oranges, kale, I've had no issues thus far. It feels like a well made product. Throughly pleased.Happy juicing!!

Great Juice and more
We have a citrus juicer, we have a centrifugal juicer, and now we have a masticating juicer. All three serve there purposes well. We use the Tribest Solostar 4 juicer to juice spinach, micro greens, and other leafy greens. The amount of juice extracted from these leafy greens is amazing, the centrifugal juicer can’t touch this. In addition, we make coconut cream with it (we live in Hawaii and gather coconuts we find). Oh yeah, Shrimp Curry made with FRESH coconut cream is the best (YUM).The Tribest Solostar 4 is relatively quiet and has a small foot print. Finding a home on the kitchen counter for daily use was easy. The juice pictured with this review is spinach, celery, and carrot.Cleaning the Tribest Solostar 4 isn't difficult but you must include it in your juicing time, you don't want to let the fiber dry out on and in the screen cone. Just plan on cleaning it right away, about five minutes or so. It helps juicing carrots after the leafy greens to get the fiber pushed through and it adds great taste to you juice. Cleaning takes a bit longer after running coconut through the machine. Just add cleaning the juicer into your timeline and you are good to go.We've been using this juicer for about a month now and haven't had any jamming or other issues with it. We are happy with our choice, which John Kohler of Discount Juicers helped us make through his YouTube juicer comparison videos. Sorry we couldn't support John through purchasing the Tribest Solostar 4 from Discount Juicers but, again, we live in Hawaii and Discount Juicers free shipping only covered the mainland’s 48 states. If you are looking for a juicer and aren't sure which type of juicer or which brand/model of juicer to purchase, check out John Kohler's YouTube videos, he's been doing this for many years. A word of caution however, John can be a bit overwhelming, just deal with it, his enthusiasm is genuine and the information he provides is extremely helpful.UPDATE: It's been six months since I wrote this review and we are having NO issues with this juicer. I would certainly purchase this juicer again. ~Lona

Cleanup was easy and took three to four minutes
I just received my Tribest Solostar 4 about an hour ago and, made and drank my first ever green juice. It was fairly decent. Ingredients included: Kale, collards, chard, granny smith apples, Italian parsley, celery, lettuce and heirloom carrots. The Solostar 4 performed flawlessly. The unit ran quietly and due to its low rpm's, didn't heat the produce noticeably. Cleanup was easy and took three to four minutes. I have limited counter space and the low profile fits well. I look forward to many more green juices in my Solostar 4.

Defective Juicer Won't Stay Put Together
The media could not be loaded. I was so excited to finally receive the juicer that I had been waiting to buy.I studied the manual, put it together, and tried juicing cucumbers. The part that holds the auger in place just popped off! From cucumbers! On Youtube videos, I saw people putting a whole lime in it. I tried that. The end part popped off again. This thing claims it can grind coffee, but it can't handle a lime peel.I tried juicing carrots, and filmed it this time. I'm attaching the video for you. See for yourself.I contacted Tribest about this. They do seem to have good customer service so far. But as for product quality, I'm feeling very disappointed.
