The Art Student's Workbook - Student Edition: A Classroom Companion for Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture Paperback – July 23, 2011

This book has many wonderful ideas, really, great ideas for the budding or pro art teacher...however, the lunacy around EACH page being labeled DO NOT COPY etc....reallllllly not a help. This book is also built around the use of a particular text book, so if you have no access to that book, be prepared not to have a clue how to use it whenever that text is referenced.Why publish a book that seems to say: ----Hey How Handy Am I to a New Art Teacher--- and then place a stop sign on it that disallows anyone from using the material via copies.I get it, create your own based on this...but having been a mentor for art teachers for 20 years; I don't see the validity of telling a new, rushed, overworked and exhausted freshman art teacher, "Here's a book with great ideas, but yeahhhh, you have to type and redesign everything again in order to make it useful."

This is a great book. Work very well with "the visual experience" textbook. I recommend it!

Excellent supplement to my art lessons and I will do it again now that I have found you.

This looks a lot more promising than it is. If you have been teaching art more than 5 years, this is old news. I would also caution the purchase of the "sibling" book "Art Student's Sketchbook". The prompts (which is what every teacher is really looking for) could be consolidated into 2 pages. The "drawing" space is not even high-quality drawing paper.

Not what I expected

Useful book in learning the basics of art. Would definitely recommend this book for the upcoming aspiring artist in your life.
