Hancy 30329 Quilt Pounce Pad with Chalk Powder, 4-Ounce, Pink

I use stencils when I FMQ on my domestic machine. Hancy chalk is great!

This stuff is okay. I used the white on another quilt, and the white worked well - it seemed to stay on the fabric as long as I needed it to, and then brushed and washed away. I'm currently working on a log cabin quilt that has stripes of white, green, light blue, and navy blue, and I decided to use the pink, thinking it would show up well on all four colors. Not so much. It's great on the navy and green, but is hard to see on the light blue and almost invisible on the white. It also doesn't seem to stick as well. I tried the suggestion in the directions of spraying the fabric lightly with hair spray, and that helps a lot, but I still need to go over the lines on the white fabrics with a contrasting chalk pencil. (I'm using a home-made stencil. I drew the design on template plastic and then poked holes in the plastic with a dressmaker's awl. The chalk lines are a series of small dots, rather than the regular lines you'd get with a commercial stencil.) I really hope the hairspray doesn't hurt the fabric - this is going take me several months, quilting by hand. I recommend this for strong colors, but not for lighter ones. I'm going to try the blue next; maybe that will be more visible.

This product is amazing. I tested it on my fabric before using, and it washes right out. I was hand drawing with a pencil before but this makes quilting 100 times easier and less frustrating for a beginner like me! It is chalk so it rubs off and gets everywhere, but if you understand that before using you will be pleased with the results! Worth every penny!

I don't like this stuff. It will not stay. You can stencil it on to fabric, but any vibration will bounce it all off.

This item arrived earlier than expected with the pouncing wheel that we purchased. This pink powder was great for the dark table we were working on. Not a very good medium to try to paint over, but we were able to get an outline down and then re-draw it with a white pencil that we *could* paint over. I'm not sure what other projects I will have that will be utilizing this product, but it's nice to have around!

I love the Hancey/Full Line Stencil products. The pink chalk works well and I've used it with both traditional stencils and the full line stencils. The chalk stays on the areas I've marked well and I've never had a problem with removing it.

Works best with stencils from the same company. Will work with other stencils too but not as well. Chalk does dislodge easily so you have to be a little quick to get everything done before it smudges. Works best on medium to dark fabrics.

I love this stuff! I stencil as I go because it does wipe off pretty easy. Quickest way to mark that I've found.
