Dorman 576-341 Steel Front Fuel Tank with Gaskets Included Compatible with Select Chevrolet / GMC Models

Direct fit replacement tank for sure. Installation was easy once the rusted one was out and all the mounting areas cleaned up when in within 20 minutes complete. It comes with two snap rings, the one I needed was a little too snug so took some effort getting it to mount the sending unit. Giving it 5 stars because the sending unit could have been the culprit? Don't know but one thing for sure this tank will last 15-20 longer than my truck will. The price was more than fair which makes it even better.

This tank fit perfect on a 1997 GMC K3500 standard cab with 8' bed. I also purchased replacement straps (Dorman 578-042) and and attaching hardware (Dorman 55157). At first I was unable to get the bolt started on the rear strap. The bolt seemed to be about a 1/4 inch short. I knew the strap was the same length as the old one by comparison. So after a closer look, I noticed the tank was slightly tilted by just a couple of degrees. Loosening the front strap and re positioning the tank resolved the issue.Some of the reviews on this tank said it wasn't coated. Mine arrived with a nice silver coating applied to it. Time will tell how durable this coating is. The insulating strips that go between the tank and cross member are not included; I was able to reuse my old ones.P.S. The new locking ring and O-ring for the fuel pump was taped between two flaps in one end of the box. Where to find them may have been printed on the box or else where, but I didn't find them until I broke the box down.

Great product and price

Would not fit my truck like it said it would. I tried several things and there is no way. I moved my brake line and still couldn't get it to go. It just isn't adaptable for my 89 GMC Sierra. The fuel tank was too long.I have a 1989 GMC Stepside Sierra that tank would not fit it it's a short bed too. I had to get the shorter stubier one two make it fit I believe it's the right one it was Bare Metal I had to paint it and haven't had time to put it in but I'm sure it will fit but I don't know about the 1992 it may fit it I'm not sure it would be best to take it out and look at it good. I hope this helps you I don't know if I got it in the right spot or not I lost the question spot so there you go. I think the 89 only goes to the 1991 then they change some. The tank is painted with metal baffles in side. The fit is perfect for a 92' c1500 long bed and fuel pump. That's the good thing and worth 4 stars. It was shipped in a cardboard box that has no protection from impact damage. The top was dented and a corner was bent down enough to remove the paint. Would be nice if it came with the two foam strip for the top. The damage wasn't enough to return it. A little paint for the corner and good to go. No one will see the tank. Be warned that it most likely will come with damage.

This tank has the baffle. If you ever installed a new tank with out a baffle, you know why this is a big deal. It will also make you pump run cooler and last longer. For those of you that don't know, if you have a quarter tank of gas or less and either go around a corner or accelerate hard the vehicle will stall out or hesitate. Installed on an 1996 GMC K2500 7.4L regular cab, eight foot bed. Expect to see minor dents from shipping. Not a big deal with this tank. Dorman is as close to OEM as you can get. I have had very good luck with Dorman products.
