Milnot Original Evaporated Filled Milk, 5 Ounce (Pack of 24)

I purchased this brand because my 93 year old Grandma was ready to pass the torch to me for her famous "Miracle Milnot Cheesecake". They do not sell it here in California at the local supermarkets and she has always had her relatives in Misouri send it to her in the past. She swears that this brand whips up very smooth and no other brand will measure up. I used the Milnot and was extremely satisfied with the results. I think Grandma was right when she said that it is so fabulous because of the Milnot brand. She recommends storing a couple cans in the fridge because it works better when used chilled so that is what I do. I have not tried to use it without chilling first so I have no idea if that statement is true or not but I have no reason to believe otherwise. So happy baking, everyone.

Milnot isn't available in my area, so I was thrilled that Amazon carried it. I was disappointed, however, to discover all the cans had an expiration of September 2013, giving me less than 4 months to use 24 cans. It will be impossible to use that much evaporated milk in such a short period of time. I wouldn't complain, if I hadn't been required to buy a pack of 24.

I'd never heard of this product in our area, but received a recipe from a family member in Oklahoma for candy that requires this particular brand and suggests that substitutions don't work as well. So I looked it up on good old Amazon and sure enough found it and ordered it. My only complaint is that I know have 2 dz but only needed a few cans. So I give them out with the recipe to my friends and family.

This product is awesome & why you can't find it anywhere but Indiana is beyond me. My Grandmother's cheesecake calls for this product - you cannot substitute sweetened/condensed milk for this.

i bought this to bottle feed a not quite weaned 4 week old kitten. he is doing very well on this. love the small can size since i don't have to open a huge can

Beware! This product has oil in it in place of milk fat. It is probably okay for cooking, but if you plan to use this in your coffee you will be sadly disappointed with the taste.

Won't use anything else for my pumpkin pies! Everyone loves them. Can't buy this locally so I have to get it shipped in. So glad Amazon has this product and gets it to me quickly!!!

Love Milnot. Like the old saying went, "If cows could, they would give Milnot" Please do not stop making it.
