Great value!
Excellent buy for an EDC. Easy to flip open with your thumb and locks out solid; great heft and feel in the hand without being too heavy. Virtually unnoticeable in my pants pocket; you forget its there till you need it. Super sharp out of the box. Looks great too. The made in China aspect is disappointing but for $22 with this kind of quality, you cant complain.Update September 2016I have had this knife for about half a year now and it has become my daily choice EDC. It is used constantly and the edge and finish remain flawless. This past summer it was used hiking and camping as well, and the blade stood up to batoning branches for the fire. A large stone was used to pound the spine of the blade...not only was splitting the small branches effortless, there remains not a single nick or defect in the blade's edge or spine!

A solid, versatile knife at an excellent price
UPDATE May 25,2007 - The Amazon price has risen from $22 to $30. It's still an excellent knife (my son loves it), and probably worth the money, but not the excellent buy that it was at the lower price point. Might be worth waiting to see if Amazon lowers the price.March 10, 2007 - Like all Buck knives, this is a solid tool. The modified tanto blade is heavy duty, and allows for punching through hard objects and for scraping. It opens easily with one hand and locks very dependably. And the blade is partially serrated adding to the versatilityThis is top value as a utility knife, or for hiking and camping. If you're a survivalist, the Bones will also fit the bill. It is too big to really be classified as a pocket knife.A great buy for the price.

Nice knife
When a knife guy tells you it’s his favorite knife, pay attention. That is what prompted me to add this one to my collection. It instantly became my favorite utility knife. Super sharp blade, solid construction, good opening lock. It is a bit stiff opening (I can’t do it one handed yet) hoping it will lighten up with use. Overall a very good knife.

Good knife
The knife is similar to the black one that I bought, however, when the blade is closed it doesn't sit snuggly in place, it moves a little bit; it doesn't sit as far into the hilt as the other one I bought from another site. It slightly bugs me, but it's otherwise an awesome knife. Just to keep in mind though: you do want to take good care of this knife making sure to clean it regularly, otherwise you're wasting your money, just like with any knife. I say this, because the knife is stainless steal and can be more easily damaged than more expensive titanium knives by things such as salt water.I wasn't sure what the locking mechanism was like, couldn't tell from the picture, but it's different from what I was hoping for. That aside, I don't mind the locking mechanism, as the knife can be closed with one hand, just like it can be opened easily enough with one hand; that's one thing I like about this knife, once you're used to it, using your thumb you can quickly open this knife with one hand so you can get to work right away. The knife is sharp, the serrated edge works well, and the clip holds the knife snug in my pocket like I hoped. All in all it's a nearly perfect knife, the issue of the blade not sitting perfectly snug in the handle; my black model did not have this issue, I may try taking it apart and cleaning it to resolve the issue; to note, this isn't a big negative, as the tip of the blade just sits inside the handle, though it is a bit close to sticking out.

High quality steel - perfect size for your jean’s change pocket
We give these to our kids as gifts because nobody realizes how handy they will be until they have one. The serrated edge is excellent for cutting down heavy boxes, small branches, deer bones, etc., and the high-carbon flat edge cuts paper like a razor knife. It fits in your hand perfectly, in your jean’s change pocket like it was meant for it, and you can easily open it with your thumb single-handed. Buck knives are always great quality but this knife is just a cut above (excuse the pun). They are great looking and high utility. Just remember to get it out of your pocket before you go to the airport. Shame to throw them away. :-/ don’t ask me how I know.

Great quality, features and price for this knife!!
I bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. Its fairly sharp right out of the package and seems to be sturdy. It has a built in clip for your pants or belt. I like the straight end of the blade, its like having 3 knives in one. You have the front blade, normal blade and serrated blade as well. Buck is also good quality. No issues here to list, if there are any I will update the review at that time. As it stands now I would buy another one with no hesitation.

Awesome knife!
I really was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this knife. The first one I ordered online was cheap and small, but I paid only about $12 for it so I dont know what I was expecting. So I spent a little more and paid $24 for this one and it really is a sturdy knife, and perfect size to carry in my purse. Plus, it looks bad-ass, just like the photo! Very happy, worth the $$.
