Similar to other basket steamers except for the extra-long feet - which really make a difference because you can add enough water to the pan for a full load of food (veggies in my case). I don't know why I thought I needed a separate countertop appliance to steam my veggies - this one works great, and works faster since you can control the temperature on the burner, which is hotter than the stand-alone product I was using before.UPDATE 10/2016: This steamer worked great for about the dozen or so times I used it. This last time, though, I didn't realize until I was ready to take it out of the pot that the center piece had apparently broken off when it had been been cleaned previously. Now, it's pretty hard to get it out of the pot without either burning yourself or spilling its contents. Not well made. I'd buy this type of steamer basket again, but not from this manufacturer.

Best steamer! Opens and closes smoothly. Will fit a small pot about 6 inch diameter or large pot about 14 inches. Can use in a deep frying pan. I use in my Lodge Cast Iron or my pressure cooker. Longer legs allow you to steam with sufficient water to do the job without the water touching your food. Can use parchment paper in it for delicate things like fish. Cleans well. I am very pleased with the quality, smooth operation, good solid construction and the versatility. Recommend this product.

I use this steamer basket the most of the ones I have. I love that it has longer legs and folds up small for storage. I also really appreciate that it does not have a handle in the middle so there's versatility in what I can steam in it. Not having a handle also helps when I want to scoop out my vegetables. I don't have to worry about going around a pole in the middle!I use it for my Instant Pot pressure cooker (6 qt) as well as small and medium sized sauce pans. For big stockpots I use a different one as my stockpot came with 2 baskets of different depths which sit higher above the water below. But for everyday use, this one is the one I use the most.

This steamer is smaller and will fit smaller pans, but the legs are not nearly as long as pictured. The picture is bogus.

I purchased this to replace my existing steamer basket (same design but without the long legs) purchase in a local big box store... unfortunately I didnt realize the size of this basket until it arrived... it's small! Based on the size, this should be under ten dollars

I was looking for a steamer for crab legs and was skeptical when I ordered this product. Showed my fiancé what I had order, she was skeptical as well and told me I should’ve just ordered an actual seafood steamer for around $50. In a panic, I tried to cancel my order but it was too late. Thank God the cancellation didn’t go through. This product is perfect! Fits perfectly in my large pot and steams a good amount of crab legs. Exactly what I was looking for! Great product for a great price. Highly recommend.

Great customer service from this seller! I got a follow-up email asking about my experience with the steamer. I said I liked it, but that one of the pieces came loose when I was handwashing it. Without hesitation, he put another one in the mail right away. The second one works great and hasn't come loose at all. I do recommend spraying with cooking spray and soaking right away after use if you steam anything that may have a tendency to stick.

It works well, but after few months it started to get rusted. Hence 3 stars. Now I don feel like using it now coz of the rust..
