So far, I agree with the June 15, 2016 review. But I paid for the one I have. I, too, am pretty tech savvy, but my time is very valuable to me.Installation is flawed. The installation routine installs the Button Manager, but fails on the Twain software & driver to control the scanner. You have to go to the TWAIN folder, then find and run that setup.exe. And there is no mention of that. I just guessed at it.The manual says you can set the switch functions, but I have not been able to accomplish that so far. One thing I wanted to do was set the date / time clock, and that seems to have happened in the background while I was trying to set up the software. (One good point.)I do not like the double ended USB cable, but can see how that would be helpful if your computer does not have the amps to run the scanner. Instead, you must charge it before trying to use it. I do like the removable AP-120 battery. You could get a spare battery and charger. (Another good point.)De-skew and auto crop are needed but are not working so far. Most of the time, the paper is not pulled in perfectly straight because there is no easy to perfectly align the document. As to the image, that is an issue. If the paper is a little thin, the image will be horrible with many spots. Anything under 20# is going to be a problem. Even 20# paper may not be thick enough to eliminate the spots. I have some medium quality 20# paper, and the scanner shows spots that do not exist. In the grey mode, you get exactly that.... A gray image for a white original. Really bad.The size is bigger (3" x 2.25" x almost 12") than some other portable scanners, scans only one side, and there is no case or pouch. The Brother scanners are smaller and would be perfect, but for the stupid gray programming problem in portable mode.Just got this Avision and just started working with it. I am not happy having to spend a lot of time getting it working and figured out. I have not decided to keep it or not. I would never use it at my desk, but maybe it will be OK as a traveling scanner.Avision needs to fix their installation, software, and manual. Watch out for all the reviews from people who got theirs for free. Their scores have been influenced, if not bought.

The size is awesome , I love that it takes up minimal space and I can connect easy when needed. The actual scanning is a little tricky, the instructions aren’t to in depth and the files scan to sd , I have yet to figure out how to scan multiple pages to 1 file they always end up separate. There’s not to much online for instruction on use either but it works I used it to scan all of my family photos and they all fed thru just took patience.

I really like my Avision IS25 photo scanner. This is the second scanner I received as the first one did not operate with the SD card which came with the scanner. It worked with a flash drive, but not the SD card, so I returned it and ordered another one. When I received the second one, it had the same problem, so I wrote to the manufacturer, who responded to my inquiry promptly suggesting I try a different SD card. I did this, and it worked. The company quickly refunded the cost of the SD card so I'm a happy camper. To date I have scanned about 1700 photos. The charge lasts about as long as I do. I'm guessing maybe a couple hundred photos or a couple hours. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. My advice to anyone who has a similar problem with the SD card, try another one, and/or contact the manufacturer as they seem to be a very conscientious company and want you to be happy with their product.

When I tried to install the software that comes on the SD card, AVG Internet Security gave me a warning saying that have stopped the setup.exe because it had an Unknown Malware that could gather personal information or allow a hacker to access the device remotely without the user's consent. However the installations proceeded anyway and after a while it seems the scanner is running OK. It would be nice to know if my identity is threatened because of this software and why? If I get an answer and the scanner keeps working (could not calibrate it!) I will change my rating!July 2, 2016. I contacted the seller and they were really prompt to answer. They consulted the manufacturer about the AVG Internet Security warning and they were kind of vague but since I have installed Malwarebyte and all is working fine. In fact I am extremely satisfied with the unit. It would be perfect if only the battery had more staying power.I need to scan directly to a thumb drive, and the scanner was made so that you cannot do this while the charger is connected. You can connect to a computer, but that won't work with my situation. If you will be scanning a dozen documents on battery power, no problem. I need to scan 3-4 times that and the battery gives out way too soon.Having said that, the images are high quality and the machine does all that it is advertised to do.

Mom died this year and I needed someway to scan all the photos and make a book for each family member. So I got this and it worked really well. I am ordering another for my brother so he can do the same with the old photos he has. I am archiving articles and photos and this is much faster/easier than a flattop scanner and the quality came out find. Very happy

We recently switched to a new field reporting system at work. We now need to scan and upload documents as PDF files in order to close out our reports. We still don't have scanners at our satellite offices and have to drive in to the main stations to scan documents, so this scanner has been a real time saver. One of my beat partners asked me to order one for his sector. We deal with confidential information so having a stand alone scanner where software does not need to be installed is a must. Scan to usb thumb drive/sd card and then to our secured laptop. This scanner is quick and resolution is fine. I have feeling I'll be ordering several more in the future. This will help us spend more time on the road and less time in the office to better protect and serve.

Habe das Gerät zurück geschickt. War mit dem Scanner wirklich sehr zu frieden. Brauchte wenig Platz u. lieferte gute Ergebnisse. Leider produzierte er nach mehrmaligem Gebrauch auf dem USB-Ausgang, bei JPEG rosa Streifen, bei PDF Schwarzgraue Streifen. Ich habe 3 USB-Sticks ausprobiert u. vorher mit Windows überprüft. Leider ist ein neuer, gleicher Scanner im Moment, zum gleichen Preis nicht verfügbar. Ich mag diese Monster-Multifunktionsgeräte nicht für die man für Patronen ein heiden Geld aus gibt. Habe einen separaten kleinen Drucker für den ich die Patronen hinterher geschmissen bekomme. Werde mir wieder einen Flachbettscanner mit USB-Versorgung zulegen der nur bei Bedarf angestöpselt wird. Für unterwegs nimmt man sowieso nur das Handy.

Ich benötigte ein Gerät mit ISIS Treiber, das dazu auch noch mobil zu benutzen ist.Zuerst war ich skeptisch, was vom Versprechen "ISIS Treiber" zu halten ist.Aber das Gerät wird problemlos mit dem mitgelieferten ISIS Treiber am PC betrieben.Auch der TWAIN Treiber funktioniert problemlos.Das Highlight schlechthin ist allerdings das Scannen auf SD - Karte oder USB Stick.Einschalten, Papier anlegen. Der Scanner zieht es ein und der Scan landet auf der SD Karte oder dem Stick.Über das Einstellrad kann (im Standard) zwischen TIFF, PDF, und JPEG gewählt werden.Kaufempfehlung

Die Möglichkeit den Scanner als Stand Alone Gerät zu benutzen (ganz und gar für unterwegs, sogar mit einem Fuji Akku), gleichzeitig aber als Gerät mit Twain Treiber am PC (mit eigenem Netzgerät) laufen zu lassen mit hochwertiger Software gibt es nicht vergleichbar. Schade ist lediglich, dass der Avisio Scanner nicht auch eine kleine Schutztasche hat... Gelesen habe ich, dass eine dabei ist, im Paket, dass ich erhalten habe war das aber nicht der Fall. Schade!

Der Avision IS25 ist ein sehr guter Mobiler Akku Scanner, die Handhabung ist sehr einfach. Die Qualität der Scan's sind sehr gut, man kann einfach das Ausgabeformat wählen (jpg, Pdf , usw.) . Ich habe ihn hier bei (Amazon für 49.-) im Angebot bekommen, dieser Preis ist unschlagbar. Sehr zu Empfehlen !!

einfach nur praktisch ! Macht alles was er muss und wenn man ihn nicht benötigt reicht eine kleine Ecke im Schrank. Für unterwegs schön leicht und passt sogar in die (zumindest meine) Handtasche. Mit der Akku-Leistung bin ich auch sehr zufrieden.
