Tasty
I use this in my flour mix just a tablespoon or so per cup to make everything more nutritious and add protein -There is no distinct flavour difference with it in my breads and even in my deserts.

Filling, full of nutrients, and really tasty hot cereal
I make this for breakfast as a hot cereal and it’s been a huge benefit since discovering I have several food allergies. The flavor was a little grassy / hay like at first but I quickly became accustomed to the unique flavor and really enjoy it now. The recipe I use: 1 serving = 1 cup water and 1/3 cup kaniwa flakes, boil water, add flakes, stir, reduce heat to simmer and cover, cook for 8-10 minutes or until it reaches desired thickness. I then serve with any combination of butter, heavy cream, milk, maple syrup or sugar, my go to combo is butter and maple syrup. I stay full for hours with this meal. If I’m extra hungry I double the recipe. Highly recommend!

These are great toasted and added to hot cereal mix
I had never heard of Kaniwa before, so when I saw this and read the reviews I decided to try it. I first tried a small amount right out of the bag, flavor?? So so. Then I toasted some in the oven, flavor was much improved. I added it to my homemade gluten-free hot cereal mix.Another great gluten-free option. Will definitely buy more when needed.

Great alternative to oatmeal!
I had never heard of kaniwa until recently, but I'm now into my 3rd package of it. It has a heartier flavor than quinoa (and a relative of it) or amaranth, has the highest protein profile of the three, and makes a wonderful addition to rotate or mix with any other hot cereal. And because it's flakes, it cooks quickly - which I especially appreciate.

Great addition to morning hot cereal grains
This is my first time eating kaniwa. These kaniwa flakes taste very much like quinoa flakes (which were out of stock everywhere I looked). I can't eat oatmeal anymore, so I had to find replacements for a hot morning cereal. I like to mix the flakes with other grains such as brown rice &/or buckwheat groats which I give a coarse grind before mixing with the flakes. Add spices (cinnamon and ginger), then depending on my taste for the day, choose a combo of add-in such as fruit, nuts/nut butter, hemp hearts, shredded coconut, cocoa, etc. Yum!!The Kaniwa flakes worked perfectly! Very glad to have found a new gluten free grain! Good product and at a good price from this seller.

Wonderful addition!
A perfect addition to your smoothie or yogurt. Add a hint of earthy flavor with a slight crunch. Have not used to bake with, but feel will also be a great addition to add to your recipe. And health benefits of organic, vegan and gluten free. I highly recommend for those looking to add another superfood to your daily routine.

Better then quinoa
I recently discovered that quinoa uses a ton of water when it is processed because they have to wash a natural poison (saponin) off of it. Kaniwa has the same nutrition profile without the natural poison. I really like this. I use it in smoothies and oatmeal. I also use it along with vegan protein powder to make a power milkshake.
