Awesome belt, very supportive.

I bought this to replace the much more expensive prescription back brace that I was told to wear daily for an extremely painful herniated disc. While it lacks the added lower back extension of the prescription belt, it does have a type of rigid boning sewn in that has resisted warping far better than the plastic support insert of the other belt.This belt is sufficiently wide to provide enough support over the lower back and (too large at the moment) tummy area to make life bearable as I continue to work until a lumbar spine fusion surgery. The quick adjustments possible with the two wide elastic bands that are on the sides of the main belt make it possible to adjust the main part of the belt for a lighter continuous support that doesn't hurt while seated and then to quickly use the hook and loop strip to reposition the outer bands for tighter support upon standing. I have found as a woman that I can wear this over the waist area of pants and then have an untucked top over it thst allows me to quickly make adjustments just as I enter or exit my car or office.I liked this belt design so much after wearing it for a few weeks that I ordered a second one. It will ensure that I can leave one in my car to avoid repeating that horrible realization halfway to the office that I have left my best pain reliever draped over a chair at home. It will also ensure that I can hand wash one belt and leave it to drip dry while having a spare belt to wear to work.

About a decade ago, I had a back fusion that has caused me intermittend problems. My lower back would tighten up and I would have pain severe enough that I could not walk or participate in activities. I tried many things, including TENS, hot cold, rxs, you name it. As a last ditch effort I ordered this lumbar brace to replace the surgical one(s) I had been using but were getting old. Immediately it eased some of my pain. Right out of the box (which was easy to open) I was able to understand the way the belt worked and the direction it should go on. This belt has (you can see fom the picture) extra bands to tighten (or loosen) the back to suit support and pain levels. I wore the belt resting and over my clothes. Wearing it over my clothes felt a little more supportive. Over time, the pain went away from wearing the belt, and when I forgot to wear it, it sure let me know I felt better putting it back on. Overall, I feel it is really healing me from these additional injuries and insults my back has had since surgery. Compared to other things I have tried, I feel this is the first thing I would use, and in conjunction with a topical pain spray, I have better pain control. I'm really happy with this belt. It fits well, is breathable (very important for me) and, best of all, really helps! I'm really happy I purchased this and will purchase another to have on hand with this one gets old - I like it that much.
