Does anyone know the ipx rating on this amp? i sweat a lot and have destroyed several bluetooth cables.

Can you force it to use aptx-ll mode by default?

How does this device get rid of the cord from earbuds? The picture in the copy shows the cord plugged into the device.

Thanks for your question! This device does not get rid of the cord from the earbuds -- it just allows you to use your favorite wired earbuds / headphones with your Bluetooth enabled phone, tablet, laptop, etc. Ex. connect earbuds -> wire -> Asseso AP1 -> no wire -> smartphone. The AP1 has a cable guide so you can wrap the cable and keep it tidy, since the cable won't have to extend all the way to your phone (or other device.) Hope that helps!

Is there any amplification using this device? BT/3.5mm connections to phones are often lower powered so maybe this does a better job?

Thanks for the great question. The Asseso AP1 has a strong output, likely greater than most phones, however this depends on the phone. The AP1's output is 2 x 35 mW into 30 ohms - this puts it into the higher end of the spectrum.
