Is this a trading card game

Nope! That's part of the beauty of it. Everyone who buys this gets the same cards, so it's not a TCG/CCG (Trading Card Game/Collectible Card Game). It's more akin to an LCG (Living Card Game), in that you pay outright for the set and get ALL of the cards, so everyone is coming from a level playing field. With that said, there a few Expansion packs out (I don't have them...just the Kickstarter exclusive stuff), but again, if you buy said packs, you're getting the same cards everyone else who also buys them are getting (I think there's like 3 or 4, but definitely not necessary). It's really a great little game, and for under $15, a steal, too :) Definitely recommended if you're on the fence.
