JR Products 70635 Non-Mortise Hinge - Satin Nickel 3.5 x 1.5 x 1.2"

Needed new hinges and these seem just what I was looking for

I've been looking for a single 180-degree free-swinging hinge to use for a cat door. It's a hole cut through our basement door, which, in the area where the hole will go, is just a single sheet/pane of quarter-inch wood. So I cut out a 5x8" hole, and rather than have a big hole in the door, I wanted to put the cut-out piece right back into place, with a hinge at the top, so the cats can move through it but it'll still keep the basement reasonably sealed off from the first floor heat-wise.I had to cut about a half-inch off the height of the cut-out piece (the "door" in the cat door), in order to allow room for the hinge and the 180-degree swing of the cat door. With that done, the cat door swings freely and it all works pretty well.I'm posting because I bought a few different hinges to try for this:Non-mortise, 3 Flag, Hinge, 1 , Flush Fit Hinge:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IFRK8I/JR Products 70635 Chrome Non-Mortise Hinge - Pack of 2:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UC6TH4/Slide-co 164240 Satin Nickel Bi-fold Door Hinge 3"x1":http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042L0N9G/All three of these hinges are able to swing/spin a full 360 degrees continuously, i.e. they don't reach a point where they stop, like regular hinges.The JR Products hinge is quite tight, though, and not free-swinging at all, and there doesn't appear to be any way to disassemble it to get some grease into it, so I think this is by design. So it would not work for this application.But the other two hinges swing very freely (almost no resistance whatsoever) and either would have worked. I ended up using the first one above.I wish Amazon would let me leave a review without giving a star rating, because in this case giving a rating isn't really appropriate. But Amazon won't let me, so I'm giving this 5/5 stars just because it seems unfair to give any negative rating for a product that's simply not right for my application.

Only had 5 of 8 screws in package, some hinges not easy to open/close also

These hinges are okay, but they are much thinner metal than other similar hinges I have. Also, while they do come with screws, the screws are zinc and don't match the color of the nickel hinge. I went and got stainless screws that look much better.

i purchased these to go on my door because they are the exact ones that the door currently had. they are cheaply made and when i hung the door on them ( hollow core) they became misshaped and bent. its for a mobile home door and is exactly what was in there already so i know that the door is not too heavy. because of the door frame they needed to be just like the old one. but they were a HUGE waste of money. had to throw them away. :(

This product is hard to find. It was used on older Bi-Fold doors. I needed these to replace ones which were painted over and did not go with my new remodeling project. I wanted new clean hinges which fitted the existing doors perfectly. These hinges did the job. I was able to use the existing pre drilled holes which saved a lot of work. I bought extra because I have one more Bi-Fold Door project and will need this Hinge.

They were easy to install on a new door, descent value for your money.

It’s a good hinge. But it didn’t work in what I needed it for.

I am building a custom metal wine room. I was looking around for hinges that can be used for metal doors that do not require notches to be cut like normal door hinges but can sit sit flush with the doors. I have not installed this product yet, but this looks exactly like what I have been looking for. They do not seem very heavy duty, so I would not use them on a door that is too heavy.

bought these hinges to replace the ones in our trailer. they fit exactly and look great. picture isn't clear on ad but they are a nice satin nickel finish

This hinge was the perfect replacement for our RV bathroom door.
