The best $10 I've spent as a network technician
Works perfectly right out of the box with no additional driver installation needed. Used with Cisco equipment (Nexus 7k / 9k cores, ISR 4331 routers, multiple access switches), and non-Cisco equipment as well (enterprise servers and other network gear).Probably the best $10 I've ever spent as a network technician. The cable I have has been through the ringer, pretty beat up and it still works just fine. I'm also getting a handful more of these cables to provide to our on-site techs at our other locations. Highly recommended!

Good product, works great.
Works great. Plug & play for both Windows and Linux. No issues using this whatsoever, just have to find the right Com port/try (usually /dev/ttyUSB in Linux, ls your dev folder to find it). I've been using it with my Cisco switches, no problems at all. They even provide drivers just in case you do have issues.

Does not work for updating EG4 solar batteries.
This cable worked fine with my computer, or it was recognized. This cable is not the right pinout to update EG4 WallMount lithium batteries. It will not work for that purpose, which was what I wanted. This is not the fault of the product and otherwise seems like a fine rs232 cable.

Reliable Connectivity, Minor Compatibility Concerns
I recently purchased the OIKWAN USB to RJ45 Console Cable for configuring network devices, and overall, I'm satisfied with its performance, earning it a solid four-star review.Firstly, the cable itself is well-built with sturdy materials, ensuring durability and longevity. The USB to RJ45 connection is secure, and I experienced no issues with connectivity during my usage.Setting up the cable was straightforward, and I appreciated the plug-and-play simplicity. It worked seamlessly with various devices, allowing me to establish console connections quickly and efficiently. The length of the cable provided ample flexibility, allowing me to connect devices without being constrained by short cables. This was particularly useful in scenarios where devices were located at a distance from my workstation. However, there were a couple of minor compatibility concerns that prevented me from giving it a perfect rating. While the cable worked flawlessly with most devices, I encountered compatibility issues with a small number of older devices that required manual driver installation. This required additional troubleshooting and configuration, which could be inconvenient for some users.Additionally, I would have preferred if the cable came with some form of cable management solution, such as Velcro ties or a cable organizer, to keep it tidy and organized during storage. In conclusion, the OIKWAN USB to RJ45 Console Cable is a reliable and well-built solution for establishing console connections with network devices. While it may encounter compatibility issues with older devices and lacks a cable management solution, its overall performance and durability make it a worthwhile investment for network administrators and IT professionals. Four stars from me.

Working out of the box usb console to RJ45 cable
I picked up the USB to RJ45 Console Cable for connecting to Cisco products across multiple systems, and it’s been a flawless experience. I tested it on Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11 machines, and it worked perfectly every time. The drivers installed automatically without any issues, which was a pleasant surprise and made setup a breeze. That said, I still followed the included instructions and downloaded the latest drivers from the website just to be thorough—overkill, maybe, but it gave me peace of mind. The cable feels sturdy, and the connection was reliable throughout my use. If you need a dependable console cable for Cisco gear across various Windows versions, this one’s a winner.

USB to serial. Works as advertised. Whatever RJ45 console connection you need, this will do it.
Works straight out of the box, FT232 serial port, connected to a Cisco AIR-2802. Allowed me to convert to Mobility-Express so as to use it as a standalone AP.

Works perfectly for computers without a serial interface
Needed this to console into some Telco Systems products at work. Had no issues with this at all worked like a charm. Hardest part is digging through windows to find out what com port number was assigned to the usb port
