Peace of Mind
I’m particularly nervous about leaving hot appliances on and walking away, only to come back to the house burned down. This little gadget gives me great peace of mind - I can turn on things like the iron and know 100% it will shut off, even if I forget. I can’t say I’ve ever actually left an appliance running that could burn the house down, but the worry is always there.

Life Expectancy
Bought this timer as a replacement for the exact same one that lasted about 6 years.It was used once a week from April through November to charge my leaf blower battery for 1 hour. Last week it stopped working. I believe it should have lasted much longer but because it worked well and is convenient I bought another.

Purchased for the auto off and simplicity of use and this is just what I wanted.
It is easy to use and works well. I originally ordered one that was just too complicated for my needs.. This one I plug in my curling iron,set for 15minutes, and it goes off even if I have walked away and forgotten it.

Despite its looks, it works well!
I was skeptical about this one. Right after unboxing, I thought "oh no...I might need to return this one". It looked like one of those cheaply made. It has been about a month now and I like it so far!It is very simple to use. Don't need any instructions or the manual. Quite intuitive. We are using this to control a bathroom exhaust fan.It took a bit of getting used to, in the starting. Two issues: 1. It wasn't sitting fully in the outlet. As a result the unit gets powered off while trying to press the button. The location of the button is in the top corner, away from the unit's center of mass. As a result when you press the button to power on or to select a duration, it pushes the unit out of the electric outlet. 2. It seemed like the unit is turning off when you are making the selections. Then I started clicking the button rapidly a bit out of frustration and nothing seems to be happening. I just needed to give it a bit of time before making a selection or pressing the button again. It's all good. Apart from these couple of quirks, the unit functions well.I just wish there is also a "5 minute option". As someone else has mentioned before, I wish there is a way the unit remembers your last selection. Or make the minimal duration (10 minutes in this case) as the default option and always stay on option be the last one. We can't have everything, can we? :)Overall, I rate this is a good product!

Cutoff timer has many uses.
I use this cutoff timer for my soldering iron. I would sometimes forget it, and it would be on for hours or overnight. Now I set the time I expect to use it and if I forget it turns off. Would also be great for coffee warmers or plug in light.

No 30 minute default setting.
No automatic 30 minute timer like the previous one I ordered. The default setting is 60 minute. Otherwise works well.
