HOMCOM Modern Style 68L Sensor Dustbin Stainless Steel Automatic Kitchen Waste Bin Versatile Use For Home Office - Silver

Bought this 68L HOMCOM bin as a replacement for my previous bin of the same style that lasted over 5 years before the auto open/close mechanism started having problems.The bin was delivered on time, in a very sturdy cardbord box, packed in form fitting polystyrene that not only cushioned and supported the bin, but also stiffened the box, making sure that it would be difficult to dent the bin during transit. The lid module was seperately cushioned with moulded polystyrene to stop it rattling around in the bin base unit.This bin has a slightly tapered body, bigger around the top than around the bottom and the main body top lip is rolled on the outside so there is a smooth surface on the inside from top to bottom.This is a great design for allowing the easy removal of a filled bag without added difficulty leading to tearing due to it causing suction/friction along the inside of the bin, or snagging on the top rim.The lid opens and closes automatically, with a touch free sensor, powered by 4 D-cell batteries. The lid opens and closes quietly. The lid housing has a lip around the top to receive the lid and allows the lid to seal well, keeping the smells inside. The lid has rubber feet to stop it clacking against the lip as it closes.I don't know yet if the new sensor mechanism will last as long as the previous one, or how long the batteries will last (the previous unit lasted well over 9 months per battery set, YMMV).All in all, a great bin.Recommended.

This bin is amazing! Slim line so doesn’t stick out and you don’t have to touch dirty bin.

Very neat and tidy

Mechanism of this bin is really we;ll designed and batteries last far longer than in previous makes. However, it arrived dented and although you can push out the dents quite easily it is a bit flimsy. Also, after 6 months the shiny external finish is starting to peel which is not pretty. I purchased a bin from this company and I had a few teething problems 6 months later and after messaging the company they sorted the problem out straight away. I can't recommend them enough, their after sales service is second to none.

Bin has ceased opening but closes automatically, not sure what the problem is but hopefully the company that supplied it can resolve, so manual open and auto closure.

Really like the bin, It’s the perfect height for what I required. I love the how it opens automatically for you to throw rubbish away and closes by itself. Great purchase.I would recommend this itemJ
